Gaskets are not meant to be changed like oil or other high use things in the engine if it leaks replace it if you opened it replace it if it is visually deteriorated or is pitted and appears rotting change it if not don't touch it they can be expensive and very time consuming depending on where they are, and if done incorrectly can lead to catastrophic failures
