How reliable have your Audi A4's been?

I am looking into getting an Audi A4, either 1.8T or 2.0T, years varying between 04 to 07. I have heard from many people that Audi's are either incredibly reliable and i have also heard stories such that Audi's break down as soon as their warranty expires. I need so advice from all of you. If you have any past experiences you would like to share about that particular car and model id be more than happy to learn from your experiences!

Get a 2.0T. That engine is fantastic and is under rated at 200 HP. Its actually about 220

I had an Audi A4 1996 before drove it for about 2 years it was a pretty good car pretty reliable didn't have any problems. I say go for it I have another buddy with the new A4 his is pretty good too :)

Just bought an 06 a4, love it.

Switched from an 06 eclipse. A4 is so refined.

I have full warranty until I hit 120K

I've got an 2000 A4 1.8T and Love it,
The only issues i have had with it have been my fault (hitting a Huge gash in the road at 80KPH and ripping the flex pipe) and the battery dying, but it was the original battery in the car, so 8 Yrs and 130,000KM is understandable for the battery to go.

The other issues that alot of A4 owners have that seems to pop up all the time are the Coil Packs failing, and the Damn LCD screen missing lines.

Other than that the general consensus seems to be that it is an amazingly refined and fun car.

I swapped from an 06 OZ Lancer to the A4, and I love my A4 so much more.

The Beauty of the A4's is the availability of aftermarket parts. Remember the 1.8T is the Same engine as in the Jetta's, GTi's, Beetles, and a tonne of other VW's

Throw in the Quattro on the A4 and you have an amazing ride in the winter. That was my reasoning for the A4 over a Passat. It's a lot easier to get an A4 Quattro than a Passat with 4-Motion.

I'm using a 2000 A4 and it's been terrible... I changed pretty much all the parts on it... and now looking for a mechanic that will charge me under 1500 for a clutch replacement.

I dont have a A4 but I do have a 1.8T and I can tell you with proper maintainance, these motors will go on forever.
