LEIPZIG, Germany — Unveiled last week at the 2010 Leipzig Auto Show, the Chevrolet Cruze Irmscher Edition boasts a beefier turbodiesel and a lowered suspension, among its other modifications. The European Cruze, a version of which goes on sale in North America later this year, was presented with an enhanced 2.0-liter four-cylinder VCDI engine, pumped up to 183 horsepower and 344 pound-feet of torque. Irmscher says 0-60-mph acceleration is accomplished in less than 8.0 seconds. The car has been dropped by an inch and fitted with 18-inch alloy rims, 225-series tires, a rear spoiler, twin tailpipes and aluminum door sills with the Irmscher logo. For now, the Cruze Irmscher Edition is limited to the German market.
