1990 7UP 5.0 Mustang - Fix Me Up
Well, this is my newest project. I think I will personally deem it the CMOC Project car as I will try to document everything done to the car to the T, a journal if you will.
This was originally a US based vehicle brought to Canada 3 years ago. The body isn't perfect, there are some pits, a few dent and some scratches. The flaking of the paint from what looks like poor prep at Ford. Interior was swapped out by the original owner due to them disliking the heat and leather. What the car needs right from the hop. 1- appraisal 2- windows aligned, motors, rails greased if possible. 3- some seals replaced to bring them up to a 10/10 instead of a 5/10 4- exposed metal touched up 5- head lights replaced 6- a/c looked into, recharged. Car sites with approx 110,000 km, 5 speed with the only mod besides different interior being flow master mufflers. My plans. Unknown at this time. Well, the only thing I can say for certain is there are some base changes I am looking to do that are fairly 'norm' for us foxbody guys. The list would be as follows (feel free to pm if you got something) - shifter / short throw - alum driveshaft - interior changes, more to black though the white looks like it needs cleaning, so who knows - vert springs - 5bolt conversion or just go to ponies, depending on how ambitious i feel. - new shocks especially in the rear - complete audio system - then 'maybe' a full header back exhaust. - maybe intake ** I plan to be cheap, that is the key with the car. I only want deals :) I am going to try and budget this and not be a fool like I have been with my 93. I would consider maybe only 1 major swap and that would be if I found a 6.1 Hemi, trans, wiring.... I WOULD put that in. There is something to be said about my SRT8. I truly believe if the fox had everything my Hemi had under the skin, it would be super slick. That being said. I haven't worked on a stang in any real capacity for about 6-8 years and even back then it was limited to what I could figure out, learn about and or source advice. When it comes time to getting dirty I will always be looking for the worker be as I want to take pics and do some write ups. So, if you are ever bored, want to work on a stang Ill pay for food, beers whatever. Now for the pictures. http://www.cmoc.ca/images/1990%207up...g/IMG_4645.JPG http://www.cmoc.ca/images/1990%207up...g/IMG_4646.JPG http://www.cmoc.ca/images/1990%207up...g/IMG_4647.JPG http://www.cmoc.ca/images/1990%207up...g/IMG_4648.JPG http://www.cmoc.ca/images/1990%207up...g/IMG_4649.JPG http://www.cmoc.ca/images/1990%207up...g/IMG_4650.JPG http://www.cmoc.ca/images/1990%207up...g/IMG_4651.JPG |
Nice project car!
|
nice project.good luck with everything.
how bout an LSX?? ;-P |
^ that would be a great way for his Mustang to get keyed :)
|
LSx would be dope with an auto tranny. Great for cruising and laying down the law on the streets!
HEMI would be sick too |
Without a dought I think the Idea of a 6 1 hemi is sick! sounds like a job and a half though...would it be worth it compared to throwing a nice screw type super charger?
|
I wish I could find a nice SRT8 donor car. That would be the way I would go. I mean, realistically a 6.1 Hemi, trans and rear end + wiring is well worth 10k imo, just not sure i am ready to spend that. lol
|
What about something like a 2004 cobra motor with kenne bell super charger. could probably get one of those for about the same price of a clean 6.1 :)
|
Dodge > Ford ;)

Ford > Ford????
