video really didn't work to weel for me.
But you can't trust the speedo at those speeds so I wonder what speed he really got to. |
it being motor trend I would think they also timed it (they are teh ones who like reporting cars top speeds)

motor trend uses external stuff for timing (the video would't play for me so I couldn't see it)
