Mission 400 Plus - under this project name H&R presents an especially spectacular world premiere at the Essen Motor Show 2006. Jurgen Alzen Motorsport, long-time partner of H&R in the long-distance championship on the Nurburgring, engine tuner RS Tuning and H&R have jointly developed a sports car based on the Porsche 997. It is destined to win the Blue Ribbon for the world's fastest street-legal sports car next year, with a top speed of more than 250 mph (400 km/h).

The Mission 400 Plus engine is built by RS Tuning in Kirchhaslach, where the racing engines for Jurgen Alzen Motorsport have been created for many years. The displacement of the six-cylinder flat engine is increased from 3.6 to 3.8 liters and the engine is reworked entirely. Company owner Reinhold Schmirler's power cocktail also includes special combustion chamber shapes as well as precision-machined cylinder heads with larger valves, and high-performance camshafts.

The engine's peripherals are also completely new. In addition to an intake manifold with larger and smoothened ports the engine is equipped with a more powerful turbocharging system and a high-performance exhaust.

The stock turbos with variable turbine geometry are replaced by larger conventional ones, which are supplied with optimal amounts of exhaust gas by the custom-tailored stainless-steel exhaust manifolds. Higher capacity intercoolers provide cooler charge air for maximum power output, aided on the exhaust side by a stainless-steel sport exhaust with metal catalysts.
RS Tuning's stationary test bench is used to fine-tune the perfect interaction of all individual components with special 100-octane fuel mapping for the Bosch-developed engine electronics.

With a boost pressure of 1.5 bar the engine develops 1,054 bhp / 775.7 kW at 7,700 rpm and a peak torque of 760 lb-ft at 5,800 rpm. And yet, the speed-record hunter meets stringent EURO IV emission limits.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a high-performance clutch and a modified high-geared six-speed transmission.

WOW! That's awesome!

They forgot to mention that the roof was shortened by 44MM to help with the Drag Coeffiency.
Studying the body work, there is still alot of improvments they can make, and their just doing what Bugatti Did, Stuff a shitload of power to make it go that fast.
Where as the Mclarent F1, needs less than 700HP to make it go 240MPH, 10 less than the Veyron,
now, simple calculations tell us that, if the Mclaren has 1001HP, its top speed will be 271MPH.
this 400 will be fast, stupidly fast, but will it hit 250MPH, if they do, they'll be lucky, but I wouldnt put my money on it.

McLaren F1 was a very well done car.

Is it just me or is this 911 really wide?

Its because they loped off 44MM of the roof, hence the car looks wider.

The Veyron is governed at 252mph so it may have the power to go faster ungoverned

Okay... first off... VW didn't just stuff 1001HP in a car and let it go 400km/h...
they need that much power because the Bugatti weighs so much... on top of that you have no idea how many YEARS of aerodynamic research went into the Veyron to make it civilized @ that speed or else you wouldn't be saying what you did.

I know what went into the R&D of the Veyron, Ive studied the car inside and out.
They hired the F1 Team Sauber to help the Aero, Sauber has a very advanced Wind-tunnel, and they also own Albert, one of the most powerfull Supercomputers in Motorsports.
By the End, Sauber could only garuentee up to 230MPH, VW had to find the other 20MPH, which took them even longer to find that extra bit.
and I know the Veyron is governed at 254.23MPH, VW tested the car up to 265MPH, the only reason they put the goverener is because of the TYres, Michelin wasnt able to garuentee the safety of the tyres after 258MPH.
Desgining a car to go 250MPH is a feat in itself,
Desgining a car that was already pre-planned and then modified to go 250MPH is a disaster, its why it took VW so long. If Ferdinand Piech had only allowed the designers to start with a clean sheet, instead of sticking with the original drawing, they would have had a much much easier time.
Dont bother teaching me about the Veyron, Its not only my fav car, its also a Technological feat, its the Concorde of Automotive.

and one more thing, I made a mistake, I previously said they lopped-off 44MM from the Roof.
Its actually 75MM they hacked from the roof,
Must been drunk when I typed that number. :P lol

Damn, look at the size of the tire on that monster.. i like

hellbent didnt VW also strugle with the gear box for the vayron, they took it out of an F1 as far as i know and and F1 gear box only last one race so they had to make it last, well as long as the car lasts.
