The computers now-a-days on cars are very complicated and don't like it when you step beyond their capabilities. When the rear wheels are spinning @240+km/h and the front wheels are standing still... the ABS/ASC+T goes crazy and throws all kinds of codes. There's a diagnostics tool called GT1 that allows the car's computer go into "dyno mode" and by-pass many sensors that would normally prohibit these actions. The GT1 is extremely expensive, and usually owned by large european tuners or dealerships. For the dyno video, we simply pulled the ABS fuse, turned off the traction control and hoped for the best. It helped a bit... the engine revved up smoothly, but hit a soft limiter about 400rpm shy of its redline.. probably the most crucial 400rpm! Hence the lack of top end power. Trust me when I saw that M6 moves.. i've driven it at Mosport and it certainly has 500HP.
cool video, some good numebrs there especially the last car. it really wound out hard. reminds me of my buddies old 180sx, used to pull just like that. the only thing i dont like about dynos is that a cars weight isnt ever taken into consideration. theres resistence similar to what youd find on the street but id imagine on the street acceleration would be a smidge slower especially in a really heavy car. its something i was thinking about the other day. anyways, good vids, some nice numbers

yup, adn thats rwd, my cavy at 13 psi on a sticky street tire would dance through third if i rolled into it too hard. fwd is useless. awd is the way to go if you wanna put down any power. then again, kevin, dsmonster, has some traction issues in his talon. lol
