here's why you always pay attention to brakeing cars.
here's some pics of my wifes mk4 2001 jetta from friday. she was on the 401, had to hard break around the black creek and 400 area i believe.
she stopped, driver behind her stopped, driver behind him didn't. luckily she had left a safe distance between her and the car in front, and didn't hit it. http://i5.tinypic.com/16c6vjd.jpg http://i4.tinypic.com/16c6wwk.jpg This is what the other 2 cars look like. Their cars are totalled!!! http://i5.tinypic.com/16c6v4k.jpg could have been way worse. everyone walked away unharmed, albeit a bit stiff and shaken. they estimated about 3-5 grand for the damage to our car, exhaust got smoked by the inner fender, bumper is toast, and I bet the lions share of that figure is for bodywork and paint. anyways, be cautious folks. make sure you keep an eye on wuts ahead of you. |
that sucks bro, glad to hear that all are ok tho. i agree, ppl dont pay attention to what they are doing, i almost got side swipped last night, some guy in a super dark tinted 4dr came into my lane, i reammed on the horm for over 5 full seconds b4 he realized and violently swerved away from me, then puts his arm up in an appologetic fashion, he just wasnt paying attention, but just as he was pulling away - I was getting ready to mount the curb just to avoid him, luckily i didnt cuz i would have grinded the rims and scraped the whole lower section of the car for nothing.
what I usually do is try n controll traffic behind me when i see ppl up ahead at a dead stop and me n everyone else behind me are still doing 40Kms+, I break early to slow everyone down to lessen the chance of a chain reaction bumper benders. |
What was the third car? Rims look familliar. Audi of some sort?
|
i think it was an s4. I'm glad as well that everyone came out ok!

the driver of the car that hit the acura must have been going at an incredible speed to apply that much force through the acura to your wife's jetta, i'm surprised the front end of the 3rd car isn't completely mangled up.

Man, hopefully she doesn't have whiplash or anything like that. She looked ok, when I was over, but sometimes it takes a bit for that to show. Stupid people are all over the 400 series. I can't even count how many near misses, and accidents I've seen. I also go from KW to Miss everyday, but thankfully, I do it in a cube van.:smilie_d0
