How's this for "Shiny"?

Not only is white one of the hardest colors to keep clean, but it's definitely THE hardest color to show a reflective shine. Therefore, guys like me really look forward to the evening time when the sun is setting, because that's when you can really tell if all that hard work you put into waxing and polishing your car pays off or not. ;)

Now I've been using MOTHERS and MEGUIRES products for the last 15-20 years, and odds are pretty good I'll continue to use them simply because the bring some fantastic results. But, out of curiosity.......I decided to try that Turtlewax "ICE" Polish and Spray Detailer, just to see how well it worked. I have to say for having a white car,.......I'm very impressed!

Obviously it's not the best stuff out there, but for the $7.99 a bottle it cost me,............
Well,........you tell me if it was worth it! :)

Oh yeah, I also picked up a few more decals from Brent. Exterior Z28 Overlays, and Steering Wheel Inserts. I also replaced the boring Red Alarm LED in the dash, with a clear High Intensity Blue LED. Shows up way better through tinted windows. :D

I hate how u people keep the interior soooo clean. Mine last maybe a couple days....

Mike Jones 06-01-2006 11:54 AM

Looks really good, I just dropped a large amount of cash buying all new waxes, polishes, wash mits, everything so hopefully I'll be able to keep my car looking good the entire summer.

Str8upChevy 06-01-2006 12:45 PM

Yeah, I have a whole shelf worth of products for both the inside and out. If I had a garage here with my Condo then I wouldn't have to work so hard at it, but unfortunately I don't.

It sits out in the weather and get's driven in the rain, :tantrum: :soapbox: therefore I end up spending about 4-6 hours once a month, keeping her fully coated and protected from the elements......but yeah, like you were saying Chad,.....it will be nice to keep it clean all summer.

Making your car look nice is one thing..............."KEEPING" it that way is another!
Thanks as always for the kind words guys! :)

I know what you mean, my Camaro is my daily driver. I would kill for a beater car again so I would be able to keep the miles down and really keep the condition of the car. Luckly I have a garage at my condo so at least it doesn't have to sit out when it hails and such.

SOMBirdV6 06-01-2006 12:58 PM

I try to keep my car clean, I cant leave it outside for 5mins with the Birds doing an Air Raid on attack on my car....ONLY my car to. Im fighting for the garage with the parents haha.

ITSA6 06-01-2006 07:19 PM

yeah white would be hard to clean but my black is also very hard expecially when it's sitting outside and has a bad paint job, so it's not good motivation to keep it clean

Jpack 06-01-2006 09:14 PM

Ahhhh, just do what i do, get it repainted. Saves a lot of time and less work.....lol, Looks great man, nice work.

NoRiceInside 06-01-2006 11:04 PM

yeah arch i dont know what youre saying, white is the easiest to keep clean.
you never see dust on it and chips in the paint.

but what happened to "last pics of the car like this". liar.

it does look really, really good, and these pics are the reason i love white cars when all my friends say white it boring. it looks so clean!

It's only easy to keep clean when it comes to dust though. When you have to drive all the time on wet muddy roads......white turns to brown. It's a geographical thing bud. :D And all my rock chips show black underneath. :(

I know, I know......I was hope'n for one that my hood would be done by now, and two, that no one would notice that last thread. :nana: I couldn't help myself though.......after you spend close to 5 hours polishing, waxing, and detailing the paint, it's hard not to take pictures when the sun goes down and it looks so dam shiny. :D

That's it though............................................ .................................................. ............................I promise!

What? I'm serious. :lolsign:

Mike Jones 06-02-2006 01:06 AM

White is the hardest color to paint match, I know that much from talking to the guy that does all my car's body work. He said black is by far the easiest.

Jpack 06-02-2006 01:06 AM

All I know is my red is a lot easier to keep clean than anything else I've ever had.

Here ya go bud.....and just remember one thing, he makes a lot of things that aren't on the site yet, so if you need something and you don't see it, shoot him an email and he can probably make one for you. That's what he's doin for my hood. :D

Anyway, here's that site: http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/vinyl/vinyl.htm
