His car would be fast if he could stop blowing up engines. That much power in such a light car is pointless anyway... if he turned down the boost he could get traction and maybe run decent times. My shitbox is still better :smokin:

Charlie_Chaos 09-05-2006 12:25 PM

Fred, you need to go smoke this guy.

Everyone knows your's is the fastest.

B6T 09-05-2006 08:21 PM

Not right now it isn't... I've got a tiny pea shooter turbo that isn't any good past 225hp.

I think I might sell the car once I get it together again anyway, I've got an RX-7 to play with now.

ALLAN_M 09-06-2006 12:27 AM

rx-7 eh what year
u love ur mazda motors eh

B6T 09-06-2006 01:34 AM

Eighty fo'. It's a year older then I am (built December '83).

It's got a 13B, but not for long. It dropped a valve, so I'm going to swap an S2000 engine in as soon as I can find one.

ALLAN_M 09-06-2006 01:40 PM

that soudns serious

Now that Id like to see, an F20 or F22 in a SA chassis. taking one high revving screaming engine, and replacing it with another high revving screaming engine.
oh oh , dont forget you'll also get V-TEC PWR

sry had to do that, but I wish you luck, and Id love to see the build, Iam more instrested in the build and problems you'll encounter than the final product.

Now that's a good one.:lol_hitti

B6T 09-06-2006 08:28 PM

^ I'm glad someone appreciates my sense of humour. Dropping a valve in a rotary... :lol_hitti

A NA 13B can make more power then a F20 anyway... :smokin:

Hellbent 09-07-2006 01:03 PM

What the ****, You mean Rotorys dont have Valves, damn, I didnt know that.
*rolleyes*

say, why do you say a NA 13B can make more power than a F20, stock for stock, it doesnt. now your comparing a highly modified engine to a stock motor, highly unfair if you ask me. tell you what, when your done, and have the final cost of your project, think about the money you spent and think what kind of F20 youd have if you spent the same on the said F20.

BTW- for those who didnt get it, my first post and first comment was sarcasm.

Actually stock for stock, the NA 13B does make almost as much horse power as the F20. You obviously don't know that the Renesis in the RX-8 is a 13B (13B-MSP actually). That engine is still toned down for emissions and user-friendlyness and unlike the F20, the Mazda engineers didn't squeeze out every last hp from it like the Honda engineers had to. On the older 13Bs, a simple street port will take you from 135hp to about 200hp, so imagine the room for improvement with the Renesis.

Uh alright.
What is cheaper:

To build up an F20:
Buy bigger cams, buy forged pistons, buy stronger rods, sleeve the block, buy cams, buy valves, buy valve springs, buy valve retainers, pay for machine work on the head, buy head gaskest, buy head studs, buy main bearing studs, pay for all the to be balanced past 10,000rpm, buy individual throttle bodies, buy an ITB intake manifold, buy a tuned header, etc - You're looking at $7500 in parts ALONE.

To build up a 13B:
Buy rebuild kit, buy a hole saw to put a nice hole in the rotor housing for peripheral ports, buy tubing to make a tuned runner length intake manifold, buy two throttle bodies (ITB), buy a header, etc It would cost about $2000 in parts.

The F20 would probably last longer, but who knows. That's a whole other topic.

You suck at sarcasm.
