Carlos Garcia's 1988 Crx Si

Propulsion

Garcia's Rex is motivated by the B16A that came with it when he bought it, cradled in HCP polyurethane mounts. Bottom end internals are stock, but the cylinder head is a mix of Skunk2 stage one cams, Integra Type R valves, Buddy Club springs and retainers and STR cam gears. Tom Fujita at Portflow did the port, polish and three-angle valve job. Both intake and exhaust manifold are stock, but an Inline Four 64mm throttle body opens up the gap for increased airflow. Exhaust is pumped out through an APEXi GT header, CarSound high-flow cat and an APEXi N1 exhaust.

A Walbro pump feeds fuel to a stock rail and stock injectors that Garcia had cleaned up by the crew at RC Engineering. Denso Iridium plugs and NGK plug wires provide the spark. A Power Enterprise Air/Fuel/VTEC controller is ready for when Garcia takes the Rex in for a final tune.

Garcia kept the transmission simple, with only an Exedy organic street clutch and ACT 12-lb. flywheel bumping up the shifting performance.

Rims & Rubber

Garcia has a few choice options at his disposal, but in current configuration, a set of Mugen NR10 (15x6.5) wheels and Falken Azenis RT615 rubber (205/50/15) comprise the contact patch.

Stance

Omni Power Sport coilovers at all four corners, with a Progress Group camber kit, give the CRX its poise. The chassis is also stiffened by an Autopower four-point rollcage, EmRacing triangular bar setup and Skunk2 front strut tower bar.

Resistance

Rather than go for a big brake upgrade, Garcia stayed in the family and bolted up calipers and a proportioning valve from a DA Integra with PowerSlot rotors, Hawk HPS pads and Earl's steel-braided lines.

Fashion

Outside: The same shop that sold Garcia the car also sold him the JDM EF8 front-end conversion. He later added the JDM EF8 taillights.

Inside: A sweet and simple interior complements the rest of the car's aesthetic and includes a Vision carbon-Kevlar driver's seat, Takata MPH harness and a Mugen steering wheel and pedals.

ICE

Alpine 7861 head unit and Nakamichi front speakers.

naw its a different car your thinking bout. The one that has K20 has the same rims, same paint, and is in ontario. This car was in the Honda Tuning Magazine a while ago and still has a b16a. I heard it nuts on the mountains:smokin:
