Pics of my car

Just took some pics of my car today, figured I'd share. I did these really fast, basically just turned the wheel one direction got out and took a bunch. One of the pictures was taken with the flash, should have taken them all like that, oh well.

Your car looks very nice man... Where did you get your stripes from? Also what mods have you done, performance wise?

Str8upChevy 04-20-2006 07:40 PM

Nice looking Camaro Bro ~ ;)

I'm just curious,......do you ever have issues with Curb Rash? Those back tires look a little narrow for those rims. It looks good,.....it's just that when they're streched like that, it leaves the outer edge of the rim out there for curb shots.

You must be like I am about my front ground FX....stay "FAR" away from curbs. But seriously, it's very clean and looks good. :D (Especially with the side moldings gone)

96camaro 04-20-2006 07:48 PM

The stripes I got custom done at a vinyl shop in town here. I would have liked the stripes on the hood to not of been as wide near the windshield so there isn't as big of a difference between that and the roof, but I still like it.

The rear tires are 275's on a 10 inch rim. There's supposed to be a rim protector on those tires, but it doesn't seem to be there. But yeah, I stay far, far away from curbs, they are evil.

paarman97maro 04-20-2006 08:04 PM

What performance mods?

b4mytm 04-20-2006 08:38 PM

Looks real nice....I like the stripes.

looks good

96camaro 04-20-2006 10:56 PM

Thanks for the compliments guys.

It's basically all show no go. 3800 with Magnaflow 2.5 inch catback and a K&N filter. I figure I can make this car look good, and then when I'm finally done university I can buy an SS or something and turn that one into the go fast car. I've had the car for over 5 years now and I love it, when I got it there was nothing done to it.

The rims are American Racing Rebels, I got the rims and the tires on E-bay, the rims were like $900 Canadian.

camaro94 04-20-2006 11:16 PM

Sinister95Z 04-21-2006 01:53 AM

:bigthumbs Car looks good, and i like the rims.

96camaro 04-21-2006 04:56 PM

I forgot it was 2006. I've actually had the car 6 years, not 5. Time goes by too bloody fast.

Hopefully I can get disc brakes on the rear in the next few weeks. I'm trying to track down a conversion kit, that place in Florida that has them is sold out right now so I'm trying this place in Alberta. Gonna get some drilled/slotted rotors and paint my calipers too.

  ..........Seriously?

Wow,....that's strange, cause I have the same tires on my 9.5" rims. I'm actually kind of puzzled now, because it wouldn't seem like a 1/2 inch would make that much of a difference.

I've got 275/40/ZR17's on my 17 x 9.5" Enkei Win Wheels, and they have those curb protectors on them you mentioned. :headscrat Hmmmmmm I was about to ask if you were sure that they're 10's and not 11's, but then I looked at your rearend shot again.

See here's what mine look like......you can see that 1/4 inch curb protector at the top and bottom of the rim. So, it must be that when they get stretched like that, the C.P. probably rolls around the edge of the rim.

96camaro 04-21-2006 07:18 PM

The rear rim is supposed to be a 18x10 inch rim, that's what it said on the box. There is quite a large difference between yours and mine, it's weird. I had Falkens on my old rims, they had the rim protector on them, looked just like yours do. When I got these Toyos, I thought "Where's the rim protector?" I'm positive that these tires are supposed to have them, I checked to make sure they did before I got them because that was actually one of my main concerns. I was thinking about going with 295's on the back but then I started worrying that those were gonna rub so I played it safe and got the 275/35's, they are also the same overall diameter as the front tires and the stock tires so the speedo and all that good stuff isn't all out of wack. Oh well, the tires are crazy sticky. Not that a could really do a good burnout before, but I could put it sideways in corners. Now I don't even think it will break lose on me, which is good, I like that.

Take some pics along the way, and try to do somthing similar to a tutorial... I want to do this, but Im kind of in the dark about it. I would appreciate it :)

NoRiceInside 04-21-2006 08:54 PM

paar hit me up on AIM some time. ive done that mod and have taken my rear end apart many many times and can tell you everything down to the bolt sizes.

anyway, that camaro is very clean. i'd recommend clear corners to add more white to the front.

and as far as the rear wheels, go with a 295 tire. 275 is made for more of a 9.5 inch wheel.
