Practicing for the Calendar Photo Shoot

I'll tell you one thing,.....trying to take photos of a brightass white car in the direct sunlight, doesn't work for Shizit!! I spent half the day driving around looking for a good place to take some photos of the car for the Calendar, and I'll tell you that this is the very first time I'm not happy about the sun being out.

The two pictures of it in front of the brown concrete wall seem to me as if the car is too bright and washed out, so the rest I took in some shady spots. Maybe I should wait till dusk or dawn so that the sun isn't directly on the car.

Well, out of these 7, which one do you guys like the best just incase I can't get anymore before the 1st? (Leaving for Vegas tomorrow morning)

I actually like this first one the best....... as far as submitting one of these for the Calendar!

This one here is actually my favorite pose, but as you can see, there's too much glare! (Wrong time of the day)

This one is the second favorite among the people here.

#5 is by far my fav. I think you're right about the brick wall shots looking "washed out". But i think #1 and #5 are the best so far.

Kinda off subject but i think you should keep the hood locks. They're settle but a nice mean touch. I like them. ;)

Thanks Grant, I like those two as well. I just wish the sun would have been lower so I could have stood back a little further. I was ducking down so the sun wasn't directly in my face. I think I might go back to that little barn tomorrow (earlier in the day) and take some more.

And yeah, the hood locks aren't going anywhere. The way I drilled the hood and lower mounting brackets for them, wouldn't really allow for anything else. ;) Are you going to be able to get Epic out of the garage to take some photo's in time to submit for the Calendar?

*EDIT* Yeah Jason, let me know what I need to do and I'll do it! They're probably not as huge as some people's, but they're 1600 x 1200, so to me, anything that doesn't fit in the screen is huge. :D

Awesome pics Arch! i like the 1st one a lot. hows your dad doing? Have fun in vegas!

Thanks bud! The oldman is still going pretty good right now, and we both plan on having a blast down there. His attitude is: "I can't take it with me, so I might as well spend it"!!! :D I'll see if I can't get some good pictures while we're there.

Yeah, I like #1 as well. I think maybe on a subconcious level, that's why I loaded it first!
Actually #4 is my favorite pose, but I should have taken the picture about 2 hour's earlier so it wouldn't have had that much glare coming off it. Oh well, I still have a few more days before the cut off, so I may still be able to improve on what I have so far. :ne_nau:

edit your post, and relink them all with the provided BB code... im too lazy to click on them all, and thats the reason the code is there.

Str8upChevy 07-24-2006 03:24 AM

What's a BB code?

I like 1 $ 5.
Try waiting til dusk to take them.
I found waiting till after 7, the sun isnt as strong and you can get some pretty awesome effects.

She aint in the garage any longer, she's at the dealership. It all depends on them if i'll get her out in time for the calender pics. :(

Yeah, I'm beginning to think that little hay barn I passed on my way to the Drag strip yesterday is going to be the place for the Calendar shot,.......now I just need to get over there earlier in the morning, or a few hours later.

Ahhh that sucks, hopefully they'll get her done in time.

# five is my favorite.

Oh and the gallery resizes them to a largest size of 900 so they aren't the same size you uploaded them.

Yeah I realized that yesterday, but "My God" it took a hell of a lot of space up just to get those 7 pictures loaded into my gallery. It was like 520kb for each one,.......but then again I didn't resize them first. Oh well, all those pictures I deleted to make room were ready to go anyway.

So you like #5 better than #1 huh? Is it because of the car being tilted like that or what? (I need recommendations here) I think I'll go back there this evening and take some more from both sides, and at different angles just in case I come up with a better one.

I somehow missed #1. I like both of them, I'll take both and let the person doing the calander decide which one is better.

I like the pose of 4 the best but like you said the glare throws it off.

Get 4 redone and it gets my vote!!

p.s.- glad to hear your dad is doin better and despite everything seems to have a positive attitude!!
