aaah beautiful
my dream 2 summers ago was to build an S13 with an RB25DET in it... very similar setup. |
Someone needs to start throwing 1jzgte's into s13/s14 240sx's. Cheaper and a better engine than the sr20 and rb25
|
niceee

Says who? Cocky Supra owners? |
^^^
Owned 1JZ and 2JZ are i think on par to RB25/RB26 engines and i think sticking to the same company is better and easier |

Put in an LS1 with supercharger lol |

I don't know much of the RB series engines other than the rb26 but I can assure you the 1jz would be a better platform than an sr20. Makes more power stock form, will take more power stock head/block, 2 more cylinders, and .5L more displacement, higer or equal redline, about equal aftermarket support, ect. :smilie_da And no it wouldnt work in everything, being as how the 240 is rwd already, and the 1j/rb series engines are about the same weight... Whatever, not saying sr20 is a bad idea or anything, just throwing out more options...I have seen a couple 240's with this swap and they are deadly since they are so much lighter than a supra. edit:before some fanboy trys to jump on this idea, think twice. Its a good idea but it takes a load of customizing to make work! |

yes rb26 is nice...
I was just talking theoretically. It works in my mind. |
I wonder how hard it would be to swap an RB26 into a 240 with the whole atessa system and everything.
|
^ If it had AWD then it couldn't drift (as easy), then that would defeat the whole purpose of modding an S13 in the first place.
|
Yeah but who says it has to drift? Just make it a fast track car. Esp if the engine is modded awd would help it put the power down. Just set the torque split to the back a bit more so it doesn't understeer.

whos talking about SR's here??
nobody, totaly different class of engines if u must know the RB20DET and the RB25DET are I6 SIngle turbo Nissan engines that in stock form were revving to 8500 rpm. RB series and 1JZ/2JZ were developed to compete head to head. wiring and mounting would be so much easier for an RB series all u have to do is use the X-mount and steering rack that come with the RB engine clip. everything else bolts up, the transmision, all the wiring is pretty much the same, u have to change i believe 3 or 4 wires. and RB26DETT in stock form CANNOT go into an S13/S14 because 1. its mated to an AWD transmission, and 2. the downpipe on the second turbo doesnt clear the firewall and the steering shaft. thats why that RB26 has a single turbo. which in essence makes it an RB25 with slightly more CCs |

yeah yeah...but RB26's never came single turbo...
RB25's came N/A and single turbo.... RB26's were always twins from factory...thats why i said in essence its an RB25 but more cc's |
