Rennworx - Carbon fiber / Magnesium Rims
1 Attachment(s)
Everybody's favorite black weave is now available in a round form. The Dymag wheel was developed in the UK origininally to fit supercars like the Konigsegg CCX, Ascari and Mosler. The Dymag wheel is made of a carbon fiber barrel and a forded magnesium center disc that is attached by specially coated titanium hardware. The finish is supposedly resistant to brake dust, salt, ultra violet and the usual forms of corrosion. The payoff for the pricey set of wheels is a significant weight savings. Rennworx Ltd., the exclusive distributor for the U.S. uses a Porsche 18" wheel for a comparison - whereas the Porsche rims weight 30.86 lbs each, the Dymag carbon fiber/mag wheel weighs in at only 13.23 lbs each - saving a total of about 70.55 lbs in unsprung weight. Not surprisingly then, Rennworx claims an improvement in acceleration, braking, and steering, among other improvements, as a result.
In addition to fitments for Ferrari, Porsche Carrera GT and other high end vehicles, Rennworx will custom build the new carbon fiber/magnesium wheels in 18", 19" and 20" sizes to fit virtually any make and model. |
yea the specs are awsome but those look ugly as **** but it does save some weight which is always good

Damn, 13 lbs. I need to go weigh my 13x6 ATS Classics. Maybe I could save some more unsprung weight on my MK1 GTI.

no thx,
I'll stick to pure Magnesium like they use in F1 and in the Pagani Zonda F than these. try hitting a curb with these and tell me after if their worth it. ;) |
I have a hard time believing they'll be durable.
Time will tell tho... it's a huge weight savings. |
