Since the birth of the BNR34 GTR back in 1999, it has been concluded as the holy grail of Japanese automotive engineering. It is deemed to be the most perfect sports car and left all of its little brothers in its shadow. That’s not the case with one Silvia from Team Autobots. This 1996 S14 has been transformed from the Silvia body style to its big brother 34 by one man, Masato Tsurusaki. Now why would he do something like that? Because, its nice to be different and its good to be the first to do it.

The exterior of course took on most of the BNR34 characteristics with the head light and tail lights both fitted with HID’s. The body was made by Bomex to fit the S14 chassis. Okay now you are probably thinking where is the “by hand” part? The wide body was custom made, the door handles, hood and gas cap was all shaved and molded by Tsurusaki-san himself and the body was painted with gold Maziora paint.

The interior was not replaced like most people would expect but most parts of the S14 was replaced with custom made carbon fiber panels so the A/C was remounted to make space for a 7 inch wide screen monitor with a DVD player in the center console for those long Tokyo traffic. The driver and passenger seats were fitted with Bride Brix seats, the panels, rear seat and rear deck where covered in the same Bride Brix material. The gauge cluster has been removed and replaced with a PIVOT tachometer, boost gauge and a water temp gauge. A PIVOT push start button was also installed and an APEX Rev Speed Meter housed inside the rear view mirror.

By no means that this car is all for show. Tsurusaki-san kept the ever trusty SR20DET motor and fitted with a chrome valve cover and intake manifold. The stock turbo was replaced with an HKS GT-SS turbo and a Greddy Intercooler with polished pipes to cool the intake temperature coming into the motor. An R34 Fuel Pump replaced the inadequate factory pump to feed this fuel hungry beast. For the footwork, an OS Giken clutch and lines was also installed to handle the power going into the rear wheels with NISMO LSD.

This S14’s style are complemented by a set of 19 inch VOLK Racing GTV wheels (front:19x9.5, 5 inch lip, rear: 19x10, 6 inch lip) and wrapped with Pirelli P-zero’s, 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 respectively. To keep this beauty dancing on the streets, a set of GAB Full Coilover suspension has been installed with pillow ball tension rods, NISMO front lower and rear arms. Porsche 4 pot Brembo calipers with slotted rotors were fitted not only to look good but to stop this car on the dime.

S14’s in Japan are like Honda Civics in the states, they are every where but not this one. You could not even tell if it’s a Silvia at first unless you see R34’s everyday.

Too many spoilers and holes and things for me. But it looks like the quality of work is really really good. and the engine looks mint. I don't get the speedo in the rearview thing tho.

i would be impressed if he shoehorned the RB26DETT into it and made it into a Skyline hybrid

It looks cool. But has no real purpose. You look in ur rearview to see who's behind you. If you want to look at how fast ur going. just look in front of u. and down a bit. and theres ur guage cluster.
