BMW Difference

I was just wondering - As far as I know (AFAIK) E46 BMWs are known for electrical problems. Are these limited to 99-01 models only or are 2002 models are prone to these as well? (since BMW 3 series got face life in 2002, i would assume , they would address some of the issues with it as well)

I am not aware of the electrical problem you are referring. I've driven couple of E46's, in pretty much all the body styles except for the 2 door hatchback (although most of them are 02+) and I have never experience any electrical problem at all.

If this problem you are referring to is a common problem, I am sure BMW most likely issued recalls and have the problem fixed.

I wouldn't call them electrical problems.
BMW over-engineers a lot of their work... but the results are amazing. With E46s, you'll get sensor problems becuase the car is loaded with them, and eventually they need replacing.

I have found mine to be extremely reliable.
