One of the cleanest SR swaps I have seen. Money tends to do that...

I agree with you. I believe Electrical tape has some type of insulation that disipates heat.

well on the right he used the wrap that i'm used to seeing to disipate heat ... but ELECTRICAL TAPE?! someone tell me what the point was please.

JDMCRX 04-21-2005 12:03 PM

Thats not electrical tape ive got some silicone reinforced 45 deg and 90 deg bends and they looked just like that its the polythane wrapping . Looks sick tho any specs?

ricernoob 04-21-2005 12:10 PM

that is so sick. i'm in love.

most surprising swap since the 10 sec, street trim, SR20 powered FD (a shop owner in Florida)

it's somewhere in my 1000 auto magazines all over my room. if i find it, scan it i shall!

sorry for correcting you, but polyurethane is a material that provides protection against both the high temperatures of radiant heat and exposure to flame and sparks.... but i'm not sure what you'd need polythane wrapping for considering polythane is used as an adhesive for roofing companies ... but your just a mad scientist aren't you

The owner of this car said that it was cheaper to do a SR swap over buying a aftermarket turbo kit

Cheaper than buying a turbo kit for the stock z3 engine? Thats bullshit. A bolt on kit would be no more than $3500usd. Unless you are factoring in built internals into that.

Ed.Guy 04-22-2005 05:43 AM

Owner said something like cheaper than fixing the blown motor and turbo it, or buying an M series motor and build it for turbo.
