i just bought a brand new p3, had it in for a week and today while coming back from the gas station it stopped working, i took it out of the box and saw one of the negative wire was touching the positive wire, also the cone not functioning right, is this fixing and where can i get it fix
please help, i will really apprecaite it, thanks |
I would take this sub back where you bought it from, And if you hooked it back up and still non working, my guesswould be the amp, touching like that would kick the amp!!

amp is fine and when i do a volt meter test only one side is giving me power and the other is not, also no fuse was blown and the sub works but sounds really bad only at high volume
|
i think that the amp is good

Did you break in the sub before you cranked it. |
it was only 1 week old

Return it with a receipt from where you purchased it. Warranty is key!
If you cant take it there, SSelectronics can help you. |
i blew my sony last night
|
it really hurts

Subs and the winter not a great combo. What type of bad sound are you getting? Is the sub fluttering even at low volumes?(not seeming to move to the sound it is outputting). Even though the amp may seem fine it could have damaged. Crossing channels is not usually good even after a blown fuse and hopefully the amp went into it protect mode.

******* does repairs. They also got lots of fosgates, but i would think its your amp th0. Its pretty hard to blow a sub with a short circuit.

Sounds like you have a burnt voice coil. Get a voltmeter and test the impedance of the coil that is bad and if it doesn't read the proper impedance then one of the coils are burnt and it will need a recone. That being said take it back to the store you bought it from and see if they will honor the warranty. Some places still do it but I know some don't cover burnt voice coils because they consider that abuse. When you get your new subwoofer or get it replaced make sure that you break it in properly. Play it at a moderate level for a couple of weeks so that the subwoofer has a chance to break in.
