So the decision i have to make is to do with Trunk space i can fit probaby two 12's in a not ported box or a single 12 in a ported what do you all think is a better choice?

Depends on what kind of power you are pushing and what kind of music you listen to.

i think the one 12 will provide more clearity in ur bass but if u just wanna have that banging crazy base then u should use both speakers

It is generally considered that a sealed box will provide more clarity while a ported box will give you 'that banging crazy base [sic]'

In any case... I'd go with a GOOD single 12", ported, with a good amp.

Having 'less' of a good product is better than having more of an 'inferior' product.

No.... that's terrible advice.

As Davis suggested... base the box on the type of music you listen to, the space you have, and the power you have.

How can one car be sealed but the other not be? If your car isn't sealed, doesn't it get wet inside when it's raining??

drifter420 will become famous soon enough
I personally like sealed box.. for the clarity and it doesn't have that spike in bass you get from ported box ( the frequency range the port is tuned to ).

during a kick drum beat for instance.. a sealed ( will give you a THUMP )
a ported ( if you listen carefully will give you a Wump.. so it's not clear. )

But again.. like others mentioned.. it comes down to the kind of music you listen to.

like the guys up there said it all depends on the music you listen to. i had a ported box but i listen to euro so the sound was really sloppy when i went with a sealed box, much better sound quality and clarity. also consider the weight the of the box in your trunk, you might have to mess around with ur suspension setup when if u had alot of weight in the back.
