Changing gear knob on Honda civic sport 2004 (54)?

I've just bought a new gear knob to my civic and was wondering if anyone knows how to do it? My civic is the one with the gear stick petruding from the dash board so I'm still a bit weery about it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! thanks!
