What did you try and do with it connected backwards? It shouldn't have done to much, unless you tried to start it, or whatever. Also, what car?

WhitE_SleepeR 03-12-2006 09:52 PM

its a 93 civic dx with a JDM D15 vtec...heres the whole story.....i went 2 go c a old teg with a new b18b...adn the motor wouldn't start..i thought it was the battery..so i took mine out...ended up not starting at all..so went home upset..and then girlfriend came 2 my house without me knowing..so i had 2 leave in a rush...and it was dark..and no i didn't try 2 start it....it was prob on for like 4 mins..then i notcied that the positive wasn't tighting to the "positive" nipple...so i ran and got a flash lite..and seen it was backwards...and boy was i pissed wen i tried 2 c if the alram would arm ..and it didn't...i was told it was the fuses mite have blown..but changed like 4 of them that were blown... sorry bout the long read ...

must cars have a main relay or main fuse.

I'd check that first.

WhitE_SleepeR 03-13-2006 12:13 AM

^^explain wat and where would i find the main relay...

urafag 03-13-2006 12:15 PM

the main relay for the civic, is in the engine bay in that fuse box its the big 80 amp fuse im sure that it blew and tats why nothing works

It does sound like you blew the main battery fuse on the car. IT is located in a fuse box in the engine bay, most likely near the top of one of the shock towers. I once blew the battery fuse on my old 89 civic, long story but the same as you i was in a rush. Try looking at that fuse, and check the others within that fuse box. Hope this helps

and hope and pray you didn't blow the ecu, which is a possibility if you try to jump a car backwards.

WhitE_SleepeR 03-13-2006 11:34 PM

i changed the reg fuses under the hood
but i didn't know where 2 get the bigger fuses i.e. main relay....i didn't jump start it...i juss connected them for like 4 mins tops....

ur a knob, Main Battery fuse, it a 100amp fuse, the main relay sends power to the fuel pump during start up, it under the dash, it would not have blown. anyways yes check your main bat. fuse, it is the first ( #1 ) fuse in the engine bay fuse panel.

WhitE_SleepeR 03-14-2006 10:51 PM

battery problems

all i have to say is HAHA!!!! its the fuse under the hood...buddy of mine did it to his too... easy fix...takes like 5 minutes...make sure when u do it to disconnect battery, then hook it back up after the fuse is installed...make sure u got pos to pos and neg to neg this time...
