I pray to god you are kidding me. You would get bashed so bad if you bought that. A good sub would cost you upwards of $250-$600. No, by no means is that a "good" or "cool" looking sub. Sorry. Try something more like a Rockford Fosgate T1 subwoofer.

oh, and here's a link for everyone.

not really, crunch is part of the hifonics family now, but they are a cheap company, the bazooka version is better, and still not a quality item, but it may surprise you that will sound better than many name brand subs (the quality of todays car audio is half what it was even 5 years ago)

JimmyFrance 02-11-2005 02:23 AM

hahahah. bass in a bottle!

fbird42 02-11-2005 09:55 AM

POLKS hit pretty good.. mine do atleast.. I like em .. Mite want to look into those

meissen 02-11-2005 11:56 AM

Hey.. my amp is a Crunch Series V600 amp and it hits really great... not ALL of crunch sucks. :p

Camarocam 02-11-2005 12:18 PM

Yeah Polk is pretty good I have one 10 and a 225 watt amp Jensen and it rattles the crap out of my lisence plate if you turn it up :nana: 40$$ :nana: but if i buy another sub it will be rockford fosgate. the reason i went with polk is becasue my friend had them for sale for 40$

jamilz28 02-11-2005 12:46 PM

should i just buy the sub for the box, and then in a kicker or infinity sub in
it?

1BADVETTE 02-11-2005 12:53 PM

wow, couldn't understand that post at all but...I would have a box made for you (alot of the pre-made aftermarket boxes aren't made to fit certain subs) and then buy a nice sub and amplifier....you know you need one of those too....right?

jamilz28 02-11-2005 01:06 PM

yes, i have a Bazooka Mono-Channel Amplifier (RSA8001D).

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/produ...?oid=71253&c=1

is that any good?

1BADVETTE 02-11-2005 01:38 PM

eh, it'll get the job done, I know your not getting 500 watts outta it, but it'll work. look for a sub with around 300 watt RMS.

jamilz28 02-11-2005 04:59 PM

so do u think that i should buy this sub and buy a 2nd amp?

TheBlackDragon 02-11-2005 05:04 PM

Polk momo is pretty good...infinity, and SOME Alpine subs are good...JL AUDIO would kick ur *** in the bank....so F that, even tho they make awesome subs.

imported_2fast4u 02-11-2005 05:28 PM

yeah i also have 2 12'' polks hit hard as hell and produce nice clean bass

archemedes 02-11-2005 11:21 PM

the bazooka amps are not bad at all, pioneer subs are junk they are plastic and sound it, polk is nice but doesn't tend to play deep bass cleanly (they do above 80 hz great) alpine only makes good stuff, jl doesn't make their subs never has never will they are identical to the eclipse and are fantastic subs. Hifonics subs are nice, and for low priced I have had fabulous luck with MA audio they don't play real low (50 hz was as low as I've gotten but that's still pretty good better than any kicker would do)

See if you can find any Crossfire or RE subs.

how about this Kicker 02S10L54 10" Subwoofer

Heat Seeker WS6 02-14-2005 10:27 PM

That would be a negative Ghostrider
JL, Polk, Fosgate, MTX and many others out there.

do you listen to snare and kickdrum only? the real frequency specs on that are down to about 120hz (the same as many 6.5's)

RFF 02-15-2005 12:46 AM

Stay away from JL, unless you have money to piss off. Diamond Audio, Resonate Engineering, Digital Designs, Adire Audio and Phoenix Gold would be good choices to look at.

FORCE_FED_Z 02-15-2005 01:02 AM

Sorry- have to disagree with you Chris- I had two JL W12's- I powered them with twice the power they were supposed to have and they loved every minute of it. I also had a 12W4 with 500 watts goin to it and it loved it as well. Every person around here loves their JL's and would stick by them. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

The biggest thing that people forget about when setting up a system is the headunit. You can't have a good system with a crappy deck. I was running the Premier 900 deck in the car with the JL's. I left all the system in it when I sold it, just took the deck with me. The kid tried hookin up a base line JVC deck to it and wondered why it sounded like crap...

You speakers only sound as good as the signal they are getting-never forget that!!

RFF 02-15-2005 06:22 PM

Never said JL wasn't good, just over priced.

jamilz28 02-15-2005 07:48 PM

ok how about the best sub for about $130-150

meissen 02-16-2005 08:48 AM

I think my planet audio subs were about that... and I definitely love my planet audio subs. Planet audio as a whole is an underdog company. Sounds really good, but not the "popular" choice.

archemedes 02-16-2005 05:27 PM

check crutchfield.com and see what they have in that range they are authorized dealers for everything and have decent pricing

Klique 05-04-2005 10:31 PM

Planet Audio had a sub called, Big Bang, and it was. Loudest bass I ever heard for it's price range. I have had Jensen subs (don't laugh, in the right bandpass box they rock some JLs), and some MA's which thump like you would not believe. I have owned Radio Shack subs, and man, you would not believe it unless you heard em. I believe the best sounding sub, was my first. It was a fiber woven coned 10" beast from Boss Audio. I paid $40 for it from some crackhead (seriously), and it was amazing. Now of course I have Alpine, and people scoff at me all the time. I am not sure why. I have pure alpine from HU to Sub's so there is no weakest link ;) Anyways, get your system tuned and make sure everything is in order. If you are installing massive amps, make sure you upgrade your alternator and battery as well. Having a nice stereo means having EVERYTHING covered. Like he said....your subs only sound as good as the signal, same with amps. They only sound as good as the HU. With a huge amp though, when the bass hits hard and you run it long enough, the lights will dim and thats when you know you F'd up. Take it from me. Start from scratch, just like you would with an engine. Get the basics, and the reward will be great.

archemedes 05-05-2005 02:12 AM

and make sure the box matches the sub

Klique 05-05-2005 06:08 PM

Well, of course....right cu. ft. and style of box then you are good.

archemedes 05-05-2005 08:51 PM

well you also need it rigid enough (most prefab boxes aren't rigid enough)
