Hi guys i am about to start wiring for my amp and subwoofer.I have got pioneer 840 deck / alpine 4 channel amp and i will be adding 2/12" pioneer subwooer 400RMS/sub.i want to run my speakers thru amp aswell front and rear both.As my deck got 4 RCA outputs at the back,my
question is shud i run 2 Pairs of rca cables to my amp? (connecting each rca end to channel 1/2/3/4 ).

To run speakers from amp do i have to run 8 gauge wire from deck compartment (as we have all 4 pairs of speaker wires already coming there ) to amp ?

last question.the pair of rca cable i bought it includes a very thin gauge of wire along with 2 rca conductors.is that a remote start wire.hlp will be a gr8 help.

A few question for you, are you running 4 speakers plus the 2 subs and if so how do you plan to configure the 6 speakers on 4 channels? As for your RCA;s that is a remote wire, you will only need 1 if your running 1 amp. You do not need to run speaker wire from the deck to the amp you use RCAs but do have to run the speaker wire from the amp to the speakers.

yea u need 2 different amps the way ur trying to go about doing it ur amps gonna last a day or 2.....get 2 amps run highs and mids off the 4ch. and all ur subs off a mono or 2 ch amp.....u should have 3 rcas 1 remote and should just loop ur front speakers off the deck so u can connect ur "stock" rear to the amp and have it looped behind the deck to the front speakers ....then all u have to do is run 2 speaker wires for ur rears....

Can you re-phrase that please? Maybe it's just me but I don't understand what you're trying to say, it's very confusing.

usually the front hooks up to the front the rear hooks up to the rear but now ur gonna take the front wires and connect them to the rear and then on the amp connect it to the front ......the take new wire and run ur own rear speakers.....so now behind ur deck you will have ur rear factory wires hooked up to the front factory wires so that when u take the rear factory wires and connect them to the amp it will act like the front ch and then run new ones.....its hard to explain but takes like 2 secs to do....

Firstly 4 channel isn't good to run subs off unless you bridge it, even so you should have a mono block. Well in this case you could be able to wire both subs series to 2 channels (cause if you run it in parallel it will be bridged and i don't know if your amp can handle that) and other speakers parallel to the other 4 speakers you would have to parrallel two of them and wire it up to the other 2 channels if it can handle it. This is the only way it will work. iand hopefully your amp has good tunning features on it. Its gonna drain every last bit of that amp.

Also no you wouldn't ever run 8 gauge speaker wire, maybe 18.

either way running speakers and subs from the same amp is never a clever idea

you will end up tuning you amp to prevent any low frequencies to your speakers
in other words...no bass to your subs

and if you do it the other way around..your speakers will sound like crap
and won't live a long life either

i suggest you take your time to run the speakers....fine tune the amp a bit
and in later on grab a mono (depending on the subs impedance) or 2 chan amp
for your subs

Sounds most straight forward. But if your just runnng one amp, hook your stock speakers to the deck and bridge down your sub, you dont want to be tuning an amp that powers both a sub and speakers.

yeah if your using stock speakers don't run them tru the amp. the rca cables that have the third 18-20 ga wire on it is a ground wire not remote wire, 8 ga wire goes to ur batt (+) the other 8 ga (-) goes to frame. blue wire hooks up to the remote on cable on ur deck. if ur deck only has 4 rca outputs then hook the 2 cables to the rear outputs then connect it to the amp. run some speaker wire to ur subs and ur all set. but i recomend getting a new mono 1 channel amp for 12in subs and component speakers for ur door and rear deck.
