Didnt you make a post on this before? Or am I retarded?

I bought my fosgate 12s for like a hundred a piece then the box for 60 and the amp for 2 so i payed like 4 60 brand new for a fosgate system for my old turck and had he2 punchs so i would look to see what you could get it new for

Agreed (IMO).......Ported or Sealed, depending on what subs you're running and what kind of sound you like.

My subs are recommended for ported because they are compression-type subs,.......but I have them in a sealed box for a harder, tighter thump.

(Drummers like it Hard & Tight) DOH....:D I'm talking about Bass!

Id rather have bandpass...my bandpass box with a Sony Xplod 10 inch Sub being pushed by the 500 watt Xplod amp i had in my Camaro before i sold it, hit harder than my friends system in his mustang which he has dual 10's in sealed box, and a 7 houndred something watt amp, so I perfer Bandpass...

97' Z28 show project 03-25-2006 10:19 AM

custom built boxes mad for the specs of the subs will hit the hardest no matter what as far as yours and his you sub probably just performed better with the air space then his. My fosgates when i had them hit better in the sealed box i put them in then the ported one. I would look at how much air space your subs need and see if the box is close enough to make it hit.

blue89vert 03-25-2006 01:38 PM

how do you know how big to make a box?

97' Z28 show project 03-25-2006 11:21 PM

you check the specs on the sub and it will have a cubic feet number for both ported and sealed boxes then you go off that.

What if you add in two subs? Do you just increase the airspace by adding in the displacement of the 2nd sub?

97' Z28 show project 03-26-2006 12:22 PM

Yea like my sups need 4 cubic feet a piece in a ported box so i have a 8 cubic foot box for the two of them

97' Z28 show project 03-26-2006 12:23 PM

some companies will give you a seperat speck for 2 subs if im not mistaken though but i know mine we added it for mine and the memphis rep said that it was the best sounding set he has heard yet so i think it was done right lol
