im gonna put two 15 in my car

1000 watts rms dual voice coil 4 ohms
i wana put only one amp to power both, any suggestion? should i go mono or two channel? let meknwo psl thanks

if your gonna power two, i'd say two channel

any particular amp suggestion? i was looking at the rockford power seris, any other suggestion?

t8002 is amazing a little pricey looking to set you back 800 or a lil cheaper but well worth it or if your willing to waste a bit more money t20001 1400 or try to break a deal you can get it for cheaper but trust me you can find these amps on ebay for wayy less

Honestly... for subs it's generally a better idea to just go with a single monoblock amp.

But if your are going run two dual 4ohm voil coil subs. You would need a 1ohm stable amp. And a 1ohm stable amp that produces the power that he needs will cost a LOT. If is better to go wit a 2ch amp. But both channels need to be 2ohm stable.

does it mean that each coil is 2 ohm stable at 500 watts rms? or is it 500 watts rms at 4 ohm stable each coil?
like i dont udnerstand it, and then amps too they have these ohms and stuff that i dont get, like shoud li get a 2 channel amp that produces 750 watts rms per channel at 4 ohm or at 2 ohm? to max the output of these subs?
i was looking at the fosgate t20001bd, which is rated at 2ohm and 1500watts rms, so would this amp be enough to pump these subs at 750 watts rms output form the subs?

i would say gho with the mono block and run it at 2ohm that way your not drawing a rediculous amount of currenty and it will still sound nice also i have a sweet dual 15 ported box free to you if u wish to pick it up

u cant do that tho u can either have them wired in series for a 4 ohm load. or in parrallel for a 1 ohm load.

ur gonna need a 1ohm stable amp.

he cant have them wired at 2 ohm man.




basically the number of ohms = the amount of resistance. the lower amount of ohms the more power ur going to get out of ur subs/amp because there is less resistance. impedance is just resistance.

actually he can if he runs them stereo meaning each sub independently(each going to there own plug) at 2 ohms not two ohms together(only one plug)

No... not at all... if anything it's easier/cheaper to find an amp that will do 2000w x 1 at 1 ohm instead of a 2 x 1000w at 2 Ohms :nono:

It is definitely not better to go with a 2 channel amp for subs.

2 way means there is a mid and a tweet... each playing separate frequencies... a 3 way means it's split 3 separate ways. Mid-bass, mids, and highs.

To be honest.. unless you're speaking about component speakers (where all of them are separate pieces with an external crossover) you won't notice a difference between 2-way and 3-way.
