Off subject car....

My brother needs help with his system. Not in a F-Body, but just a quick question. He asked for my assistance in choosing a system for his Pick-up. I told him my suggestions. Go figure he didn't take it. He bought Rockford Fosgate 6.5 Coaxials, the Power model. He needs to get the rears. Alpine 9820XM head unit, and he thinks it sounds like ****. I told him, when he gets the rears, it will sound better. I had an Alpine head unit, and 4 6.5 coaxials before I put in my system, and it sounded great. Any ideas on what might be wrong, or what would make it sound better? I personally have no clue. Good HU and good speakers. *shrug*

what's it sound like? have you heard it, if he wired the speakers out of phase there will be no bass response

Hrmm, well Arch. I have no idea, but I think it's done right. Here is what we did. Alpine HU, stock speaker cables. Used harness kits for the speaker wires to the speakers. I think they only fit one way. The back are stock 4x6's. Running NO amps. He just uses the Alpine umm....50x4 I think it is.

the harness can be done wrong, stock 4x6's suck they have no bass

I sell those fosgates like everyday at work and they sound awesome. Better than the r-types I think. But anyways once he gets those ***** 4x6's out of there he will notice a huge difference. The fosgates aren't sounding right because the 4x6's cant keep up with them.
