puttin subs in a CTS...HELP!!!
puttin subs in a CTS...HELP!!!
so i dont wanta change the deck because if i do i loose a lot of the cars features..so thats not happening...i do have a good jvc deck just dont wanta put it in.
i have a fosgate addaptor that taps into the stock system to make 2 RCA outputs...
question :
can i just disconnect the factory bose sub and connect to these wires?
note there are only 1 positive and 1 negative on the sub and there are 2 positive and 2 negative on the rockford adaptor and need both to work.
so can i connect 2 on the adaptor to 1 on the car system or do i have to go up into the dash and tap into the door speakers? really dont wanta do that.
also any1 know a easy power wire rout? and will my optima fit? looks like it might be tall.......

Yeah disconnect the sub from the CTS and just connect the two positive wires on the loc to the positive on the sub positive speaker wire and the two negative wires on the loc to the sub negative speaker wire. Not sure where the factory amp is but you may be able to find an amp turn on (to turn onm your amp) wire there as well, if you're lucky. I wouldnt go thru the doors because chances are that those speakers have a high pass filter on them so the bass will be pretty low.
changed my mind...tried to run the power wire and set off a security alarm with some sort of firewall pass through sensor...keepin the system stock, less hastle and less to go wrong and just gonna slap some rims on it
kick in the nutts is i now know where 2 put the power wire without setting off any sensors...but it takes 2 long so im not gonna do it. system is up 4 sale and i want rims...would trade it for some 18s or bigger
ok well you enjoy you toyota...and im gonna go ahead and assume that its the older one that is rwd because drifting in fwd would just be stupid...so its obviously over 15 years old .
its probably not worth the gas you put in it lol.
im gonna go ahead and drive my CTS and love every min of it.
as for GM reliability...put 75km on my 2002 jimmy and it only broke a plastic clip in the steering coloum...thats pritty reliable to me. its now at 160km and hasnt seen a single repair since. matinence only...try 2 tell me that about your toyota.

Chek this link out. It's step-by-step on how to add an aftermarket head unit and keep all your functions. It's only for a nav screen, but I think the wiring would be the same on any unit.
