Shot Amp?

Hi,
I purchased on Audiobahn A8002T amp... and for some reason when I hooked it up, both the protect and power light turn on.... Does anyone know what it might cost to get that fixed?

is the amp plugged into any speakers? if its connected to subs check the impedence of the subs and find out how stable ur amp is at a certain load.

I doubt it's the impedance... even with the suwboofer wires disconnected from the amp, and with the amp running just power, it shows Protect.

Make sure your ground is good... and check the voltage across the pos and neg at the amps...

If you aren't getting enough power in to the amp it may go straight to protect.

about the amp

Yeah I checked the ground, Also checked it in someone elsez car, still giving the same 2 lights. It played for about an hour at medium vol. and it juss shut off. <-- the amp is 1600 watts. (running 2 12" kicker CompVR subwoofers). My brother tells me he had it working and than it just shut off... (he said it seemed like the amp got really hot). Right now im running a 750 watt garbage amp.... <--- It pounds the kickers alright, but its not that great in response, or sound quality.
