sub boxes
Hey guys just wondering what adhesives you use when construction sub boxes using a nail gun and adhesive.
I like to use PL-4oo construction adhesive. Just seeing what ppl have had success with. |

I have used sub-floor adhesive with good success. Usually though, Elmers wood glue clamped overnight or nailed/screwed with the seams sealed with caulking or silicone and u are set.

Gorilla Glue. Can be found at Cdn Tire. NOTHING holds like this stuff. Be very careful when using.

Glue and pre drilled holes for screws, silicone the inside edges and that should do it. Mind you im not box making pro but it seemed to work well.

^ thats my method exactly, just always make sure airspace values are correct for the size of the sub.

Thanks man,
I appreciate the support. I'll be making a couple of boxes myself in the next week so off to home depot for supplies. |
i used 2" drywall screws and wood glue
you have to predrill the holes though, but the box is very strong i used double mdf for the side where the subs mount. my next sub enclosure im gonna build will be fiber glass...will be interesting |
