Subwoofer Rattle
Subwoofer Rattle
When I turn my subs up a little bit it seems like the left sub is making a kind of rattleing noise, At first i thought that it was maybe just port noise but now i can definately tell that its not. Is there something that could be wrong with the sub that is causing this noise? And if so is it fixable? I can't really notice it when I am inside the car or if the trunk is closed, but I don't want to open the trunk to show someone and it sounds like that. So please help me out. Thanks!
I'm running 2 12" subs. Its 1000 Watts to each. I took the sub in and he checked it an said it was fine. Said it might be my box. So when I got home I decided to switch the subs around. So I did and it seems to be fine now. Maybe it was just loose. I think that might have been the problem. Hopefully it doesnt start again. Thanks for the help tho
check the resistance of each voice coil (if dual) I have a old MB Quart where the one voice coils reads 7-8 ohms. It's starting to fly apart and catch on the magnet. Another way is just to press on the cone with your fingers it should move without any snags. pushing on it won't always diagnose properly always. Sometimes my MB would only crackle or rattle during low notes. I couldn't hear it in the car either while playing but it still annoyed the crap out of me just knowing it was on the fritz.
