System Help!!

I am looking into switching up my whole system now.. I used to own a V6 Camaro and I put 2 12" Audiobahn subs in there since it was more of a showy car.. When I bought my Z28 I put the subs into it but now I don't want them in there.. I need help with what I want to do.. I want to get rid of the subs..

I want to have like maybe a 3 way speaker in the door and put a mid in the back seat to get some bass and just use the stock hatch speakers.. Would I be able to take out the stock monsoon amp and somehow wire up all the speakers to the headunit or something? I just want a nice sounding system without all the huge subs..

I have a aftermarket headunit now as well.. Could someone help me out?

ye man.. you can install the new headunit and then either run all new speaker wires from the headunit to the speakers themselves or they make a monsoon amp bypass kit that just pretty much plugs in to bypass that factory amplifier..

if i was you id go with a component speaker setup for the doors.. and then either a coaxial or a midbass driver for the back seat.. upgrading the hatch speakers is really optional.. not gonna make a whole lot of a difference..

id suggest alpine, memphis, mb quart, or fosgate platinum series equipment

I think I am just gonna do some coaxials for the doors and some mids in the back seat and be done! I think I will just wire them up to the stock amp because other people have had success with this..

i have teh ED subs in the back and they work great on the monsoon amp, and for the fronts...its entirely up to you. you need to go out and listen to lots of setups and decide what you like. mids/highs are very subjective, and we can list all kinds of speakers but you might like something completely different.

listen with your own music when you demo speakers

rip all that crap out and start with a mono and 4 channel or even 2 channel. a nice set of components will be good for the front, i got mine for about 110 new, now theyre around 135. decent set of coaxials is all you need for the rear, running off the HU will do in most cases so you can bridge your 4 channel to your fronts were you will actually want the sound, then do the 2 subs or w/e you want in the trunk, theres a few options for fbodies, however hatch speakers are a big no no. i learned that a while ago. now that i have my ED components in the front and MB quart coaxials in the back wired to a decent 4 channel, it makes all that monsoon crap look like childsplay. and beleive me, monsoon is a joke as well as the bose hoopty crap they put in the older cars. 4 speakers and a sub or 2 will be all you need.

speakers

I got sick of the subs in mine so I just went down to one sub woofer and put it in a small enclosure in the trunk/hatch space.
