Ok so i am in the army going to iraq and all that fun stuff, but i love my car more then anything so while i go get shot at im puting her in to get done up. So heres the set up. I am haveing to get a fiberglass amprack and box to start but the subs im puting in way close to 50 lbs and need 4 cubic feet of space a piece. Yea thats right a piece. They are the new Memphis Mojo M3 12's. I am getting 2 of them. So needless to say thats not going to fit in the little drop of a camaro so that is where the amp rack goes. Im getting 2 memphis mla 1000d amps bridged puting about 1100 watts to each sub. Then im getting another about 450 or so watt amp for the regular speakers. Speaking of thoes in the front im getting Memphis componant 6 1/2 and 6 x 9 componants in the back. Odd gage wiring full dynomate floor doors and roof 5 firad cap. New dry cell battery panasonic in dash dvd. As far as the subs go the back seats are being removed and the fiberglass job is going to coat the drop in the back and come up when it reaches the top of the drop on each side the box is going to start with a kid of rounded up desighn that cares up to just behind the front seat where the 12s will be. inbetween the starting of the subs is going to be a plexy glass disighn. (thats where the shop gets to leave there mark) And all that can be yours for only 6000 dollars. The price tag on my custom job. But there are extras in it like its all going to be trimed out in lighting and the plexy glass as well. Plus the fiberglass will match the car as well. I am suposed to get project pics from the start to the end so even while im in iraq if i can ill post a few for all of you to see.

P.S. Im thinking of doing a total of 4 1000d's one to each voice coil what you think arch

don't do multi amps per sub, if the gains are off only a millivolt it will sound horrible and damage the subs. The setup sounds pretty good

thanks for the imput i talked to my install guy and he said almost the same thing he said the only reason to do that would be to just run lanes and thats it no normal everyday listening

I tried it doing spl and my score was 10 db lower (I did manage to get it better, but it took a ton of work and a power supply)

whats ur estimat on my system the way i discribed it my install guy says in the 150s

archemedes 08-26-2005 05:54 PM

150's is possible if the box is solid. I have a cheapass q logic box in my truck that hit 120db with 1 12

all fiberglass made to the space requirements of the sups exactly im thinking with the right freq it should be high 150s low 160s but i could be wrong

I peak at 49Hz, and that is pretty **** low. ohh and Hi im new to the boards, I work at looney tunes car audio here in tennessee, been installing for about 6 years now, competing for around 3, I own my bird, a 88 rx7 (project) and just bought a VROD.

high 150's to low 160's? maybe on a audiocontrol meter, it takes the big dogs to break 155. I have personally installed a system that with the battery's, alt, subs, and amp cost added up it costed over 6k and he did 157.4 in a crx. using soundstream SPLX subs and a XXX series amp (which by the way PAS mag said it was THE most powerful amp they ever tested) he peaked at around 53 Hz and lost .3 db per second due to voltage loss (stinger 260 alt, 4 optima yellows and 2 5 farad caps, 00 wire from alt to bats and 0 from bats to amp) when you get ready to meter make sure your using eithier a Linear X or a Termlab USB meter. BTW archemedes whats with the hate of kicker? they dont play low?

they don't play low they are dirty competitors(they have the most penalties of any manufacturer for cheating), and kicker is a marketing company not a manufacturer (I worked for lanzar and we made everything that said kicker)
