how did you do your flat black paint job?

paarman97maro 11-01-2006 08:24 PM

who?

blue89vert 11-01-2006 08:24 PM

yea 50 bucks is cheap enough to where who cares what it looks like if your car currently looks like mine. you know like different colors... one color like that even with no shine would look 1000 times better than a multicolored car

Adric 11-01-2006 08:28 PM

haha yeah damn theres alot of pages. Some peoples came out excellent then others shittyish orange pealness. They must have not put enough prep and work into it.

blue89vert 11-01-2006 08:31 PM

orange peel goes away when you wetsand thats why that first guy with the charger had his turn out good b/c he wetsanded after every coat up to like 1400 or somethin

ITSA6 11-01-2006 08:31 PM

about 4 cases of krylon. I have done a couple correctly using ppg black and flattening agent (it won't come off on your hands like spray paint does)

its prolly nice for what it is, but im with arch. it cant be that great. you cant make spray paint from a can or rolled on paint look good very often especially on a surface like that. mostly its in his prep, thats why it looks like it does. anyone can make 5,000 dollar paint look like crap compared to someone who knows how to use 100 dollar paint. mostly its the person doing it. but yea im not buying it that it looks all that great in real life.

here's the pics of my truck (I didn't bother to wash it, I think the dirt is holding the door on)

archemedes 11-02-2006 04:17 PM

it hasn't been washed in at least 3 years (heck it hasn't been driven in almost 2)

blue89vert 11-02-2006 09:07 PM

Tradition_F 11-03-2006 09:23 AM

i could see how that could work, but it would take alot of wetsanding...especially the clear;)
