3 piece spoilers
 

iv seen alot of them on cars around here and i was wondering where the cheapest place to get them is i found them on rk sport for like $250 :eek: but i know rk sport is usually way over priced and i dont know where else to look?

if you wanted a OEM SS spoiler, its over 1k...the fiberglass ones are cheaper...but the quality of the OEM is better, I cant believe I posted something and didnt even finish it, must have dazed off...ahaha

This place had the cheapest ones I could find when I was looking. I was gonna buy a wings west one from them but the communication was horrible for me, but they didn't know if they could ship to Canada which took 2 months to find out. I ended up getting an SS spoiler from SLP. Maybe you'll have better luck with them.

thanks guys i looked around and most of them seem to be aruond 250 is that the lowest any one has them? i couldnt get the camaro/firebird section to work on the link that 96camaro posted but im asuming its around 250 as well i found this one on ebay what do you guys think...should i trust ebay?

Yeah especially when dealing with 'glass products. You might save on initial costs but then spend twice as much on labor making the part look good enough to paint.

I would spend a little extra honestly- that way you will get something that won't need extra work to try and get it to fit properly.

yeah i guess i'll have to spend alittle extra money so it'll have to wait a while i dont have that much right now and i called the guy who does alot of really good body work and he said it would cost 300 to paint it but that sounds kinda high so i'll check around some more...it sounds like this is goin to be alot more expinsive than i first though but i hope it will look good enough to be worth it

$300 is WAY high...I had my hood painted for less than that and it required sanding down and smoothing..

yeah thas what i figured i went by macco to see what they would charge but they where closed so i'll have to keep lookin

thanks that one worked the "3 piece factory style lip wing" is $207 there but i kidna like the rk sport one better so i might just pay the extra 50 and get the one off rksport.com does any one know how much i should expect to pay to have it painted?

why not? I have seen some of them do better work than other shops, they use the same paint just have 2000 stores buying together (they are all independently owned also) it's like telling someone not to buy from an ace hardware because your local one has high prices

yeah i went to maco a couple years ago to get my old car painted and they would have done it for 300 and that was the whole car so i figured the spoiler alone wouldnt cost more than 100 or so..but i sold the car before i got it painted so idk how good of work they do

$300 could be a basic minimum price, or if it's a small shop that is the cost (to do it yourself would cost about that in materials) especially white, since there are a few thousand whites. Black is the cheapest color since there is only 1 black, red is the most expensive (generally speaking) if you can talk to the shop, and they have another vehicle being done that is the same color as your car, then it's cheaper, but generally speaking, a spoiler isn't worth the time it takes to mix the paint (last white car I did it took almost 30 different colors to get the right shade of white)

hmm i never knew it was so hard to get the right sade of white the guy i talkd to who said 300 for the spoiler does alot of really really high quality work and has built some amazing cars hes one of my dads old friends from high school and iv never been able to afford to have him work on my car but he gives me alot of advise so i'll just stop by macco one day that they're open and see how much they would charge i just hope its not to expinsive if its over 150 or so i prolly willnt be able to do it for at least a couple weeks

Trust me w/ all the crap I went through by buying a cheap *** hood off ebay...spend the extra and get a quality piece. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR seriously...remember that. Lol I'm trying to save you all the crap I've went through w/ my hood.

The only big things I bought of Ebay like that were actually name-brand stuff that was used- you are still takin a risk though in that you are hoping that they are telling the truth on the condition of the parts.

I'm sure you can find better prices than going to RKSport. Their stuff is nice, but I know you can find it cheaper elsewhere-

ive just herd some terrible things about Maaco. Oh well.

I've heard that the spoiler in the picture on the RKsport website isn't actually what it looks like anymore, you get the factory style one. You are looking at the RS style spoilers right?

I wouldn't do the ebay one either. I got one of those cheap ones a couple years ago on another camaro and it fit horrible. The middle piece was to short and the side pieces were curved wrong so I had about a 1/4 inch gap. I ended up getting an oem from ebay.

The Freedom design is one that a bunch of people on here have already- it attaches to the hatch and just hangs over the sides-

do the people who have it recomend it? its $50 cheaper so if it works good i would buy it instead of the 3 peice

It's a taller design. But with it being one piece you don't have to drill into the sides of the car, I think you might still have to drill into the spoiler though.

kk well thats is prolly what i will get my mom has a cousin that owns a body shop and he said he'll paint it for $100 so im goin up there tomrw to talk to him...me and a friend just removed the side molding tonight and im really suprised that it looks so much better i didnt think it would make that much of a difference

ok im really exited i just orderd the freedom design 1 piece 3in spoiler so i'll post some pics up when i get it and when i get it painted

well it came today i was soo suprised to see it already i orderd it yesterday morning and got it today...i set it on my car and it looks pretty ba im taking it in to the body shop tomrw to get painted and i'll post pics up after that
