yea but i dont care if cops can read my plate cause they can already and if i did anything that would get me in trouble they would just pull me over and get my plate anyways

And the reason I did it was not for the fact that it makes my plate more visible.. I did it because it gives a cool effect to the back of the car.. Instead of that ugly yellow bulb, I have a nice crisp white light..

i was thinking it would fall into the neon plate frames section at autozone..

I like it, I dont really do anything that would have people(i.e. the po po) looking at my plate anyway.

Techinically in NY it would be illegal. But honestly I doubt you should have a problem, esp. if the LED's are tucked up inside the bumper. I see where you are comin from with the crisp light, and I do like that. If if only had maybe 15-20 LED's then I might be interested in it. Its a nice uniform light which I like, mainly because of my vanity plate that would be easier for everyone to read..

SMAN- the last thing that most cops are going to be lookin at first is your license plate- only reason to look at it is to run it- if you aren't doing anything stupid then you shouldn't have anything to worry about...

Ive seen cars with lights under the section that lights up your plates come with cars, how is it illegal to be able to see your license plates better..I dont think it is...

because its a distraction to other people... much like underbody neon lights.
