97+ Dash Conversion
 
has anyone done a 97+ Dash conversion in a 93-96???? cuz i hate the console in my 95 and the 97+ is just cooler lookin............ any infor greatly appreciated........... or you can just call me a moron for thinking of something so idioticly stupid......

ive heard of someone, im pretty sure it was on here even, they did a 4th gen dash conversion in a 3rd gen, but im not sure if it was 93-96 or 97+... so im sure it couldnt be that hard

I've seen a fourth gen in a second gen conv. Must. been a ***** to do! And I've also seen the fourth in a third gen before. So it's possible, if you have the cash to do it. Might have to goto a GM shop to have them reprogram the guages. I hear thats not cheap BTW.

that is a very custom job, the 4th gen is narrower than a second gen (a bunch of guys on nastyz28 have done it, and it leaves a huge gap unless widened)

If you just want the lower console, thats easy. The upper dash would be a simple swap, just need all the necessary parts. Check with a junkyard- that would be the first place I would start.

As for the gauges, I would assume all you need to do is unplug the old ones and plug the new ones in, but not for sure. That is of course assuming you get a gauge cluster from another 6 cyc.
