Clear Corners

Just replaced the yellow bulbs that my clear corner lights had with white bulbs. The lenses are clean and the bulbs are clean, but the light is a dingy yellow. What are some good bulbs I can get for a nice bright crisp white?

You might wanna check your state laws, I know having white signals is illegal in some places... I get my bulbs from a wal mart, and theres amber or white there... shouldnt be too hard to find.

Its state law to have it the amber color I belive just about everywhere. I like the amber nice to see a fbody or vette coming with the ambers on in the daytime gives it a mean look.

I like clears with amber bulbs... it looks a lot nicer than clear bulbs with amber turns.

Id say get white bulbs if you had a 98+ with bright white headlights.. But since you dont amber would work better..

I'm wanting to get the sealed beam conversion from eurolights.com too. Was thinking that clear white corner and turn signal lights would look kickass with them.
But you think amber huh? With clear lenses?
Was also thinking about putting in blue led turn signal and corner lights from a site I found... can't post it 'cuz I'm a newb, but what do you guys think about blue corner and turn signal lights through a clear lens?

well...

a couple of your are wrong. in cali you need either a white or an amber turn signal in front. so keeping stock clear bulbs is fine.

and that problem with the clear bulbs looking like a dingy yellow, i have that problem with my Z so this weekend when i installed clears on my TA i used amber bulbs and it looks a lot better, specially what jasons talking about, amber DRLs look badass.

How hard is it to find white bulbs? At work everything from the cheap Eikos to the high dollar Wagner bulbs are all pure white.

jtblckmaro 01-05-2006 09:34 AM

Well, I bought white sylvania bulbs, but they look like ***. You say at work everything's pure white... where's work?

RFF 01-05-2006 01:50 PM

Let's see about any autoparts store on the planet will carry those bulbs.l

jtblckmaro 01-05-2006 02:00 PM

Well hey man thanks for all the clarification.

amber bulbs are easy to find...3157 amber...walmart, autozone...

Str8upChevy 01-05-2006 03:39 PM

Apc makes a 3157 that looks completely blue, but when lit, it shines super white. I know there illegal to run up here in the Seattle area, but I see them in cars all the time. I'm currently running the Sylvania Silverstars which show blue when off, but shine amber when on. I have a few close ups in my gallery.

I'm thinking of running the 3457 amber bulbs in my clears, as a buddy of mine has them in his 94 Z28, and they're a lot brighter than mine. I realize they're a higher wattage bulb, but he hasn't any problems with them, and he's had them for months now.

Maybe thats what I need for my signal to stop burning out.
