Crome SprayPaint.

err my question is would it be a good idea to buy some enemal crome spray paint and spraypaint my current stock wheels on my 94 camaro? Would it look right? What about the brake dust always getting on it....?

paarman97maro 02-06-2006 05:31 PM

I think it would turn out like ****... maybe over time, otherwise youd see a lot more people doing it.

mxracerbrian 02-06-2006 05:31 PM

ah.....probably not!! i bet it would like like ****

Onedarkevl 02-06-2006 06:19 PM

don't do it!!!!!

meissen 02-06-2006 06:22 PM

someone on LS1tech did it and it came out looking almost identical shine-wise to his chromed intake.

niceroc 02-06-2006 06:26 PM

ive used the chrome spray paint on other things and it looked good... i dont know how it owuld last on wheels tho

69z-28 02-06-2006 06:32 PM

it wont look like actual chrome, but if you doa nice job spraying them then maybe clear coat them they might turn out good

mxracerbrian 02-06-2006 06:47 PM

I think it might turn out looking good, but we are talking about rims here!! I mean rocks, sand etc. is just going to chip the paint off....

You're talking about the guy who painted his fuel rails right? That did look good but I'd never do it. Don't remember why but we had some chrome spray paint at my parent's house and we used it and no matter what we painted it would chip off.

micamaro 02-06-2006 08:41 PM

I would say ...DON'T do it.You would be sorry later.

meissen 02-06-2006 09:04 PM

werd, I skipped over the part about it being for rims. In that case, like other's have said with rocks and all the dirt it'd experience, that'd be too risky to try.

If you look at my updated cardomain and look at my grill, that is spray painted chrome, it turned out more silver and started to rust away after about a month. Dont risk it

i bet it would look ok but for a very very short time it just doesnt hold up

camaro94 02-07-2006 02:23 AM

chrome spraypaint just isn't that great, don't do it.

RFF 02-07-2006 02:39 PM

I would never use chrome spray paint, now chrome powder coat is a different story. Still nothing like chrome but it would look good in a engine bay or something like that.

DDxHellRaiser 02-07-2006 04:56 PM

Guess I wont then, I figured it would look real good if done right but then again rims go through some pretty heavy torture overtime...
Anyone know where I can buy some good Interior parts for my 94 t-top camaro?? Such as:
1. Headliner for t-top
2. Inside Door panels
3. Wheather strips for t-top and door windows?
