Engine Bay Update :D

For those that didn't know, I did the !wire mod awhile ago and discovered the holes that were for the positive terminal were pretty rusty...

I posted pics awhile ago showing my progress with sanding it smooth and applying putty to it:

And now... it's taped and primed:

69z-28 01-23-2006 04:51 PM

man that looks nice. how long did it take you to tape off all of that?

FamousZ 01-23-2006 05:45 PM

Looks good! I wish mine didn't have all that goop on it..

meissen 01-23-2006 05:56 PM

Taping it off took about an hour total. Not too bad. I gutted some of my interior dash today to start the major overhaul of that too. :D

Bernotas05 01-23-2006 07:10 PM

Looks good man when are yah squirtin it?

meissen 01-23-2006 08:21 PM

prolly going to wetsand tomorrow, depending on how it looks after wetsanding, I might go ahead and do the red tomorrow... it doesn't have to be show quality like the exterior since it's in the engine bay and such, but I do want it to look really good.

Bernotas05 01-23-2006 08:31 PM

sounds good should look good man

NoRiceInside 01-23-2006 08:43 PM

nice. but where did you route the wires? under there into the fender well? not a good idea...but looks good.

meissen 01-24-2006 12:43 AM

Rerouted the wires under the wheel well. Why is that not a good idea? Humor me.

camaro94 01-24-2006 02:19 AM

Some "car" people have dislike the idea of the "reroute" aproach under the wheel well. They say it could get "damaged" from moisture and rain. I still haven't done that yet. So I cannot comment.

Hrrm, if that's the case, those "car people" (not directing this at you, Rob) should do some research before they comment. The wires are entirely protected from the elements, as they're covered by the black plastic wheel well cover, it's wedged between the metal of the wheel well, and the plastic cover, so there's no way any elements from the weather could harm or interfere with the wires, likewise not one person that has done the !wire mod has posted saying they've had issues due to rerouting the wires, so I see no harm in it at all, it's an excellent mod! :)

Anywho, here's another update pic. F'ing Murrays only carries one can per color, so I could only buy one can of red which was entirely gone by the time I got done covering with a good coat of red. Go figure. I hate how they only carry one can per color, so effing annoying having to buy a can, do my project, wait for them to get another can, then paint more. Anyway, here's the pic:
