Front end and grille question

3 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I'm new here. My husband owns a 1994 Z28 Camaro (white w/ T-Tops).
I need to get pictures of his car.

Anyway onto my questions.

1. On the picture I posted, I have two arrows. What are these parts called?
His car has spidering on the hood and black road rash as he calls it on it.

Is this something that is difficult to repaint and fix yourself?
Or should he have it done?

2. The Bowtie grill is fading really bad can you also remove this
and paint it yourself?

Thanks inadvance and sorry for all of the questions.

the bowtie can prolly be replaced or you can get an overlay from brent as for the paint if its in your budget id just have it repainted.. this is a common thing with any car thats low to the ground.

Exactly, you'll just need to sand the paint down and redo it.

97z2801ss,

I can get an overlay from brent (Ok who is Brent and how much will the overlay be?)

Is there anything that you can put on the front end of the car that can protect it and make the stuff come off without ruining the paint job?

(not a car bra)

Brent makes a ton of custom fbody decals. Here's a link to his site.

3m makes a clear protectant that sticks on, it can damage teh paint also(paint needs to breath), really a good paint job should last.a good poilsh can bring back oxidized paint (th protectors can actually speed up that process)

Thanks for the advice!

the spiderwebbing is from it hitting something, that paint has to be stripped off and redone it can be done at home, but it may not match

If they haven't then they aren't being driven!!

I would say a body shop would charge around $500 to repaint the bumper. Keep in mind though, it probably won't be a perfect match- rarely is it ever unless its a new car and even then its really hard.

Another thing is if you have the body shop paint the bumper have them take the bowtie off and paint it to match. The factory color on that is hugger orange, not the red the car is. But thats just my .02. Also a good thing to do is to put a custom emblem on the front where the 'flag' is, another small touch but something that shows attention to detail.

I have painted cars that matched enough you'd never know it, any good shop should be able to do it (they have to mix their own paint to do it)

I mean I don't have to worry matching paint of different ages, arctic white is arctic white.
