Full dash restoration and repainting?

Hey guys, I'm looking to have my entire dash restored and repainted.

But keep in my I do not want the repaint to be a spray can job in the backyard. The entire dash should be properly prepped, cleaned, and painted with something that is MEANT TO LOOK OEM....not some crappy ricer paint job.

Does anyone have any Do-It-Yourself links for this?

Should I sand down the dash A LITTLE BIT, and use vinyl spray or some other type of spray paint?

do you know of anyone local who has experience with this?

or any other suggestions would be good too

Thanks

if u spray it in the car, the overspray will destroy everything

There is a paint at Canadian Tire or Partsource for interior dash painting and it works quite well IMO, just make sure you clean everything down with either rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner works great too.

thats true. It comes in a black can. Pretty sure it is made by duplicolor.
lots of people acutally use dye.
good luck with that bud.

Dye is the way to go. It will soak into the dash rather than sit on top of it. If you just paint it it will probably end up flaking in the long run (seen it many times). If you want it done proper then use a dye. My buddy did this with all his trim peices in his mustang and turned out looking OEM. Not sure where he got the dye from though.
