Gauge light problem

I took my gauge apart, trying to replace the standard yellow bulbs with LED bulbs and I couldn't get the lights out no matter how hard I tried. I gave up and put the gauge back together but now, it looks as if some lights are one when I drive that shouldn't be on. When I signal, the signal light illuminates the other light notifications around it. Also, the light that is near the "low oil" notification illuminates the low oil notification a little bit along with the "ASR" light even though my oil is fine and ASR is on. Why is it that when I put everything back together again, it looks as if the gauge lights are seeping into other gauge notification areas, illuminating these other gauge notifications?

Reassembled it...still shines through. Tried to seal some gaps between the lights...doesn't shine through too much now.
