Help with CD Dash Mount!!!

My GF got me this CD dash moutn that I wanted.

And I didn't want to mess with it, so I took it to a good car stereo install place and they aid that it seems incomplete, like it should come with tabs and stuff. They had no idea how it would go in and they think they would have to fabricate it to get it in there. Basically all it came with was all one piece, the dash plate and mount. They quoted me $100-$150 to do it. I know some people here have had this CD dash on, how did you guys do it?

I think chad (projectcamaro) has that in his camaro he should be able to help yah out with that

From the looks of it, it should bolt right to the dash no problem.

$150? Wow, they must take you for a sucker. Have you pulled the dash apart to at least look at what it would take to do? I bet it's no harder than drilling a hole or two with some screws. Course, ive never seen it in person so i am just guessing.

well if you have a firebird or a 97-02 camaro its easy to take a peak. just pop the bezel off from around the radio/HVAC controls. if you have a 93-96 camaro its gonna be trickier to examine it.

my guess is you'd use it with an existing dash mount kit and simple put this one over it and have the radio bezel hold it in place once its installed.

know what i mean?

Turns out, it WOULD have been easy and I would have been able to do it myself, as I originally tried, but the car had another radio kit on it that was not stock from the previous owner. I had to do a lot of fabbing, but I got it in using parts of the other kit.

Pics up later tonight.
