Mouting hardware...?

ok well i brought my body kit to my guy today and he looked it over and ithe said i should jsut return it because of the work it is going to need he said you going to be spending more in work the how much you paid i said thats ok money isnt my problem.......but anyway apparently to mount it i need a slide that runs the length of my door is there any place that sells something like it, if not i could probly rip it off a car at the junkyard (fbody junkyard)

MyFirstCamaro 06-19-2006 10:59 PM

i thoguht of using the valence tape and glue and that **** but from opening and clsoing the door all the time im afriad it will get weak in the middle and leave a gap......but there will be a good size gap from the car to whre the kit actually meets it

paarman97maro 06-20-2006 12:07 AM

camaro94 06-20-2006 12:36 AM

MyFirstCamaro 06-20-2006 09:34 AM

Not to be an ***-hole, but you need to slow down and watch your spelling...

Are you really looking for a "bracket slahs" or is that a typo? I cant even tell.

MeenZ28 06-20-2006 10:01 PM

The stock kit doesnt use double sided tape and screws, it uses a wierd combination of tabs and slots. There's pieces that attach to the body that the tabs from the kit are suposed to slide on to. You're body shop guy is just trying to be "factory". I'm running the stock rocker panels on Epic and just useing double sided tape. It'll be fine.

archemedes 06-20-2006 10:26 PM

the 3m tape will hold as long as everything is clean (that's what the factory uses on the side moldings on most cars)

ITSA6 06-21-2006 12:16 AM

i had my body kit on with only 3m tape and some screws and it was fine....till i took it off

lmao. brackets slahs. haha

sounds like the body shop guy is a regular dick and think there is only one way to do it. take it somewhere else.

MyFirstCamaro 06-21-2006 09:40 AM

lol....yeah i dont really look when i type i just assume its ok it was supposed to be slash*, anyway well il tell him i cant get that bracket and tell him that doublesided tape works fine....if he says no il just have him paint it for me then, because i have seen the work he does its freaking amazing and he wont ripe me off since he lives down the street, il watch the typos from here on

paarman97maro 06-21-2006 09:42 AM

yeah, get it painted, and I dont see why he wouldnt do it with just tape... if not, just install it yourself man... cant be that hard....
