TIA.

summit racing, shipped from Nevada for me to Palatine, took about a week at most to get here, cost around 10 bucks. i bought it with my clutch from summit. 500 for clutch, 10 or so for that, total was 525, so idk if there was an extra hazardous fee or something, id say 15 bucks prolly at most.

VHT Nightshade? Your best bet is ebay or summit sometimes has it.

archemedes 10-09-2006 01:23 PM

got mine from ebay

paarman97maro 10-09-2006 04:03 PM

Yeah looks like im going ebay. 22 shipped from summit... nah.

Sinister95Z 10-09-2006 04:46 PM

Summit automatically charges a $10 handling fee for all thier orders. So it's not really worth it unless you are ordering a bunch of stuff.

Paar, if your wanting to tint your taillights, let me give you some advice. VHT nightshades is non gloss, it doesnt look good imo. Best thing to do, 5 parts clear coat 1 part black paint, add a paint gun and spray'em. They'll be nice and glossy, its what I plan to do as soon as I get time.

I was just reading a thread on a GTO forum of a guy that used a couple coats of wet clear coat, and they did turn out very nice. I might just do a test run on my old corner lights or somthing.

I dont have the luxury of having a paint gun, or a paint booth so Im going to have to make due.

Phate 10-09-2006 06:13 PM

You dont need a paint booth. Just get a decent paint gun, get an Ingersoll Rand for like 80 bucks, I love mine. But you will have to have an air compressor too... lol

And I live in an apt/dorm... It would be cheaper for me at this point to just get the VHT and clear.

IMO Paar- I think it won't look good. You have a nice green/black combo going- don't ruin it by mixing the black in too much- Photochop it first and see if it accents the car.

Also- it will cover up the tails- which while I'm not a big fan of, they at least add to the visual effect of the car, don't cover them up.

Im not going to go 100% black... I just want a little bit of a tint on them, and my corners also. The tails do look too bright, Ive thought that for awhile.

Heres the link that I want to do up similar to: http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36684

I can add on however dark I want it, I might go a little litter than him. I just think the clear covers over the lights throws it off... if its tinted a little darker, I think it woudl look nicer.

Just put a lot of clear coat over the nightshade and it will shine just like any other paint. I got mine from eBay the first time, and amazon.com the second when I had to have it in like 3 days.

that's what Brian did too and he says his are shiny, mine aren't that dull on the bravada (about the same gloss as the plastic covers) the dull comes from too many coats and too dark I think

I went to a shop near my area(well, 30 minutes away, but that's cuz of traffic) and they had it in there. Got it for 12 bucks. Cheapest I ever saw was like 17 at least.
