Painting Rims
Whats the best way to do these, I have some stock rims that I would like to use as my winter rims and would like to paint them either white or black. I heard that sanding them down than painting them and than a clear coat looks good but just wondering if anyone else has done any work on rims. Thanks a lot

get something called aircraft stripper, but BECAREFUL, this stuff burns if you get it on you. it should strip it bare, then you can sand imperfections or whatever, clean it up, primer, then paint several light coats with 10-20 min durations

Sanding them down works well, but is timely and annoying. Aircraft stripper works well on rims if you really want to get down to the metal. Sandblasting works aswell and creates a good finish to paint. There are a few ways of doing it really, but i would say since there just winter rims sanding or stripper works well.
