Possible new paint

Well me and my friend figured out a plan. He works at an auto body shop and knows how to prep a car. So me and him are goin to sand, scuff, prep, prime... my car in a couple months. His body shop charges like 60 for a little can of paint so I am goin to get it painted somewhere else where they can just spray it for a descent price. Probably a place right by my house i forget the name of or maaco.
Everyone sais maaco paint jobs are **** but my friends boss said thats b/c they dont prep b/c people are cheap when they get paint jobs. He said if you do good prep work and get it sprayed at maaco its like a $500 paint job and would look pretty good.
Grant, i want to know if i can copy your stripes and get it painted like the chop you did for me. THanks

Macco does ok work if and only if you prep the car. You are correct in your thinking. I have seen a few cars done by them both without proper prep and with. Take the time to prep it right cause that is 95% of a paint job, and you wil be happy with the outcome.

Having both a 4th gen and a 3rd gen with Epic stripes would be sweet!

Epic's stripes started on my first car - my 88' RS.

Im trying to decide whether or not to trust maaco with doing stripes on my car. I need some advice. Should I buy a spray gun and prime it like that or is spray can primer ok if i get a good brand? I started on my front bumber today filling in some cracks and holes. Ill get some pics of my progress later today.

What color you plan on? Goin with gray again? Personally if I were you and I was gettin my car painted I would go with a color you dont see on fbodys.. Since you want the stripes you should do a different color too.. Maybe a bright orange or something along those lines..
