Rims with stock tires

Hey guys, I'm kinda new and I was wondering where I could find a pair of chrome corvette rims that would fit onto my 2002 camaro. What size do I need to fit with my stock tires? I've seen em on ebay but the dimensions have me clueless.

I tried the tire rack website, and they don't have too great of a selection of rims.

well I have 17x9.5 " all the way around. what size of a wheel do you want to go with?

Jpcrazylegs 01-19-2008 12:33 PM

Anything that will fit easily with the stock tires

yea, OE wheels are ok, I got my wheels from OE wheels...dont ever get their tire package...the worst tires ever...no grip and handles like **** in corners ;) but the wheels are nice, personally I got polished aluminum because chrome gets old and chips and stuff.

Not that all experiences are bad, but, you may want to google "O.E. Wheel Distributors" and look at all the complaints you will find.

98CamaroZ28 01-19-2008 01:13 PM

yea, I was pissed, my Nexen Tires were out of round and wheel hop and braking was horrid and made me feel like i was going to crash when i braked, I think it caused runout on my rotors and now when I brake even with my new tires I still get a small pulsation in my pedal and thats hella gehy! Oh and one of my wheels took a lot of weight to balance it out and I know it isnt my tire...but other wise im pretty happy with my wheels :)

Jpcrazylegs 01-19-2008 01:22 PM

Your right, they are a horrible dealer. Hm.

I guess tire-rack is my only choice. How are their rims?

These look pretty B.A and it says it will fit. What do you guys think?

ZRSS28 01-19-2008 01:28 PM

Those are nice. Looks like those black inserts could be removed easily and powder coated/painted to match your car too. :)

Jpcrazylegs 01-19-2008 01:41 PM

Will my stock tires pop right on those?

98CamaroZ28 01-19-2008 01:43 PM

what size are your stock tires...??? and what size is your stock wheels?

ZRSS28 01-19-2008 01:45 PM

What size are your tires?

Oooops, lol. Great minds think alike?

98CamaroZ28 01-19-2008 01:46 PM

Ummmmm, standard rims standard tires for the 6 cylinder.

I'm at college until later tonight so I can't go out and measure them.

I put up a picture, maybe you guys can depict it from just looking. You know, like a psychic camaro lover or something.

98CamaroZ28 01-19-2008 02:03 PM

16x8" i believe is what you have, I hate those wheels...so ugly.

Jpcrazylegs 01-19-2008 02:07 PM

I know, im trying to fix that lol

So that 18 will not fit with those tires?

ZRSS28 01-19-2008 02:09 PM

Pretty hard to stretch a 16" tire onto a 18" rim.;)

Jpcrazylegs 01-19-2008 02:10 PM

Well this is gay. Now I have to wait until those tires wear out. Haha. Take a look at that bolt pattern though, it doesnt look like it matches up to the pattern on my current rims.

Tire rack says its compatible though. Hm.

Thats just a stock photo. Click on the "explain this" link.

Jpcrazylegs 01-19-2008 02:17 PM

Aha! good catch.

Thanks guys. It took me two years to save up for this car. My previous car? 1990 dodge caravan.

It might only be a 6 cylinder, but being used to a 100 horsepower monstrous I4 burgundy van I consider it quite peppy.

98CamaroZ28 01-19-2008 02:23 PM

yea, 16" tires are obviously to small of a diameter to fit on an 18" wheel...shoot you cant even mount a 16" tire on a 16.5" wheel...still to big, it has to be made for you car, have fun spending 1000$ on tires...cause thats what its going to cost for 18's.

Jpcrazylegs 01-19-2008 02:25 PM

Whaatttt......

Nevermind, i'll just keep my current rims

ZRSS28 01-19-2008 02:26 PM

Or buy some 16" rims.

98CamaroZ28 01-19-2008 02:30 PM

yea, buy a set of the 16x8 5 spoke wheels and get 245/50 16's on there and you will be good to go ;)

Jpcrazylegs 01-19-2008 02:37 PM

Eh, that site only has one option of 16 inch rims. They don't look that great either.
