Smashed My Car Up.
Well I know it has been a while since I've been on here since I got a job back in September as a customer service rep for Sprint customers that we support in the U.S. Things just got kind of busy for me since I've been also studying for my Microsoft Certifications too so I can get a better paying job. I've also been in the process of moving into an apartment with my wife since March 1. Anyhow enough of that and on to the garbage that I've been going through for the last week and a bit now that has been stressing me out more each day. :eekk:
As I was just on my way down the road to work on Feb 27 I was probably about only two minutes down the road from where we previously lived out in the country roads, when I noticed this older lady pulling down to the end of their lane. I was keeping the car around the speed limit and as the closer I got I noticed her not even looking my direction so I took my foot off the gas and realized she isn't going to stop. Before I knew it she was out in front of me and I quickly slammed on the brakes while trying to stear toward the shoulder of the road. I had no luck since I was just slidding and banged into the back driver side of her car and kept slidding then went off the road and went over the mailbox post at the end of their driveway just narrowly avoiding the hydro pole and this huge tree where I finally came to a stop. I got out of the car and immediately phoned the police because I was shaking so much. It took around 2 hours before the officer showed up and then we had to give both sides of what happened. She automatically told the officer that it was her fault since she didn't want to get stuck due to the plow leaving some snow behind that her 2007 Ford Focus could not get through. The officer claimed that he was going to charge her for Failure To Yeild to Oncoming Traffic. She also said she would pay for the damage. I had the car taken to GM in town since they did work before for the previous incident that I've posted on this site.
The following day she calls me and says she wants more than one estimate and wants me to take it to a bunch of places to find her the cheapest rate. I then explained to my wife the issue and we decided it would be best to just go through insurance since she obviously is going to cause problems since she even had the nerve to say that I was speeding. I don't speed in that car since I've been trying to keep it in as good of shape as possible and I really want to try and make it last me until the new Camaro comes out. :D From that point that she was going to make things difficult we decided to just go through insurance. Well the next problem was the insurance I've been trying to deal with the last 5 days and it seems like they can't get nothing done since they can't find that lady's insurance or even her drivers license to process the claim. The whole week has been one problem after another. All the damage is done to my driver side which took out the hood, bumper, fender, headlight, turn signal, fog light, and wheel well. The cost of all the damage is around $4200 with taxes. The only good news I have is that the insurance company will repair my car but I may have to pay the deductible of $500 if they can't find out who her insurance is with. Anyhow I need to try and get some sleep but I haven't even been sleeping good either because my mind just won't stop thinking about everything so I came on here to vent.
Sorry for making it such a big post. :faint:
